The concept of studying organizational behavior is to understand why people behave in a certain way

within an organization and apply that knowledge to make organizations become more effective. Noted
that the study of OB does not based totally on the "gut feeling" neither intuition nor someone's instinct,
OB is a systematic study which you need to have the conclusions base on data, scientific evidence. With
the data gathered under the controlled conditions, measured, and interpreted in a reasonable way,
manager can understand more precisely the reason behind behavior of individual, group. Human’s
behavior is hard to understand, it is complex, the behavior of 2 people sometimes cannot be the same;
however, the study of OB can give us the reasonable conclusion. The disciplines that contribute to OB
including psychology, social psychology, sociology, anthropology. Those behavioral science contribute
different unit of analysis from individual to group then organization system. Mentioning about OB, we
can discuss about the motivation, communication, conflict, etc. For example, what is the reason why an
employee is so active at work while one is unmotivated and disengaged with team. Applying the
understand of OB can help managers, team leaders find the reason why in a reasonable way, decide the
leadership style, what kind of working environment organizations should have, etc.
