SUPPORTING SINGLE-PARENT ADVOCACY

Introduction:

In today’s generation teenage pregnancy is one of the problems in Bacoor, Cavite. This issue

leads in separation of both parents because of their capability, and it causes being a single parent. It

is challenging for many people to combine work and family. However, this problem is not the same

for others, especially for the single parents who have the worst life balancing. Because most of them

needs to work than to spend time with their children after the separation. But not every single parent

can find a proper job that supports them. Because there are some norms that prevents them not to

work. The single parent’s emotional life was also shaped by their status as a single parent. The

majority of single parents expressed loneliness, helplessness, hopelessness, lack of identity, and lack

of confidence. In the social realm, the majority of single parents avoided social events and changed

their fashions as a response of their sadness. They also developed poor dietary and eating habits as

a result of their depression. Due to the absence of their partner, the majority of them found it difficult

to maintain discipline among their children. They expressed feelings of loneliness, trauma, and

sadness, as well as difficulty managing childcare and establishing a routine for their children.

Purpose:

The purpose of this concept paper is to help the single parent on how to manage their time,

how to combat their emotion, how to raise a child on their own, how to become an independent

parent, and lastly is to help them financially. It also discovers the organization’s main objectives,

strategy, capabilities, and progress. The thing is they can assist us in being the parent we desire, to

empower single parents, to lead successful families, and build strong communities. This mission is
to support single parents in gaining financial independence and improving their lifestyle so that they

can provide the greatest possible living situation for their children.

Description:

The one way to make this project success is by conducting some seminars and activities. Also,

to make some products that can raise funds to help.

• In seminars in every barangay court/hall in Bacoor, Cavite, there are speakers that will

discussed and explain the proper way of managing time, handling emotions, and raising

a child in a proper manner. And this helps the single parent to know their purpose and

value in life.

• In activities, there are fun and educational activities that needs to join the single parent

with their child to develop their strong relationship that will help them to handle any

situation.

• Lastly in making product, here they are the one who will work for it, they will be teach

on how to make produces that they can sell to raise a fund and also to start their small

business.

Support:

This project in not costly, it needs only small amount of money. Because the best support for

this project is moral support from their loved ones. But we will also be accepting donations or any

materials like crafts, papers, bottles, etc., that can sell or re-use to make a new product. Support

groups for single parents can be particularly beneficial for exchanging ideas, feelings, and

experiences with others in similar situations. This will be a big help for their daily life and needs.
