Greetings of peace!

The undergraduates of Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Western Mindanao State


University, are currently conducting a research study entitled: Intercultural
Dialogue: An Approach to Peace-building among Youth as partial requirement
for Social Work Research 199.1.

The study would like determine the students' awareness of the value of peace and to look
at realistic ways to foster peace and intercultural interaction, specifically:

1. To find commonalities and differences among various cultural traditions and


perceptions,
2. To look deeper into the idea of peace and its many manifestations,
3. To promote Intercultural learning and Human Rights Education as realistic tools
for instigating peace and intercultural dialogue.

In this connection, we would like to respectfully seek permission from your good office
to conduct our study in your university and out of our university. The researchers will be
conducting a Focus Group Discussion as instrument in gathering data. The retrieval of
the questionnaires will be done on or before November 30, 2021. Rest assured that all
data collected will be handled with utmost confidentiality as well as the identity of our
respondents.

INFORMED CONSENT FORM

Thesis title: Intercultural Dialogue: An Approach to Peace-Building among Youth.

I choose to participate in this study as a respondent under the following conditions:

1. The aim of this paper is to determine the Intercultural Dialogue awareness of the

youth and importance of peace and to consider practical ways to promote peace and

intercultural interaction in Zamboanga City. In Particular, this study will identify the

level of awareness of the youth in Intercultural Dialogue: An approach to peace-

building. The result of this study will mark and double check the awareness of the youth

in terms of their knowledge about Intercultural Dialogue and as well as to be able to

raise their learnings about peace-building. The total number of participants will come

from the Public and Private Institution and out-of-school youth which are randomly

selected and expected to be 60.

2. The study is a descriptive survey design and Qualitative techniques.

3. I'm taking part in this study because it's about awareness in Intercultural Dialogue:

An Approach to Peacebuilding, which is something I'm interested in as a young person

in the group.

4. I understand that the research will provide information on Intercultural Dialogue: A

Peacebuilding Strategy, and that I will be available during data collection to provide

accurate and reliable information.

5. The research will begin in October 2021 and will end in December 2021. The data will

be collected using a questionnaire. The researcher will be doing online Discussion

through messenger. Strategies will be also be applied In order to ensure that the target

demographic is reached, questionnaires will be distributed via electronic emails or via

Facebook messenger, all of which will be adequately registered.

6. I will be asked to complete a survey questionnaire that will take between 60-70

minutes to complete.

I am willing to engage in the discussion if it is necessary to support findings.

7. I accept that the researcher will not use information obtained from the survey to

identify me by name in any significant reports or purposes, and that my privacy as a

participant in this study will be protected.

8. I accept that my participation in the research is entirely voluntary and that I will not

be compensated for my participation. There are no risks associated with respondents'

involvement in this research.

9. I believe that the majority of respondents would find the topic to be interesting. I have

the right to refuse to answer any questions if I am uncomfortable in any way during the

survey.

10. I am aware that the entire study data will be treated with the utmost confidentiality,

and that the participants' identities will be kept private if the study is released. If I make

a submission, I will be given access to the study's findings.

11. The use of the data in analysis, journals, sharing, and archiving has been explained,

as far as I'm aware.

12. I have thoroughly read and comprehended the clarification given to me. All of my

questions were satisfactorily answered in a truthful and precise manner.
