Mama, ooh,
Didn't mean to make you cry,
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow,
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters.
B. The imperative sentences are on some parts of this song lyrics they are :
Open your eyes,
Look up to the skies and see,
In the second stanza the writer wrote “Open your eyes //Look up to the skies and see //
i’m just a poor boy, i need no sympathy” according to my analysis verse one and verse
two talking about reality, the writer said “open your eyes” mean he realizes that this the
reality if they don’t believe it just look at it to the sky.
“Let him go !” here means that the writer wants him free from all the judgement and
being himself, not part of minority nor majority. Than, “Never let you go” verse clearly
explain the previous verse, that it couldn’t happen, judgement is everywhere, it’s in
human DNA, judge eachother.
“Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby” this verse is explain the previous verse about the
writer shout out his thought that he deserve freedom, he deserve to be himself. The
writer can’t accept cruels treatments toward him by his lover.
C. 1. Paradox
Little high, little low,

(both of the sentences paradoxically with each other. Little high, little low,
easy come, easy go, that sentences express Freddie feeling about his mental illness
that shown when Freddie in the stage and the truly of him self.)
2. Ironi
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
In the third and forth verse the writer said that he’s a poor boy, and he needs no
sympathy. The writer wants to show his condition, he doesn’t have anything. When,
the writer wrote “I need no sympathy” it’s like a sarcastic phrase, which mean that he
really needs a sympathy, deeply care from someone else who can help him, who can
be with him when he’s in the lowest part of his life.
3. Juxtaposition
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead.
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters.
I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me.
He's just a poor boy from a poor family,
According to my analysis some juxtapositions i’ve found are first is in the third
stanza. The writer pulled his trigger, and when he pulled his triger someone basically
die. In this song the verse means the writer isn’t the same person as her mother
knows about him. The writer has changed into entirely different personality. It’s
explained when the writer said “now he’s dead” , “he” here means the writer’s
personality.
The second juxtaposition is in forth stanza, carry on here means just live your life
eventhough it’s hard, live your life like there’s nothing really important, do not care
about anybody judgment.
The third juxtaposition is in eighth stanza, the writer explain what’s himself in
society, that he’s nothing just a poor boy that doesn’t have someone who loves him.
That he came from also poor family. According to my analysis the writer has a
problem with his family, i think his mother also judge him and doesn’t accept him to
be different then before. That’s the reason why the writer said nobody loves me,
eventhough he still has a family.
4. Metaphor
Caught in a landslide,
No escape from reality.
Sends shivers down my spine.

In the first stanza the writer said “Caught in a landslide” explain his position now,
that’s eventhough the society reject him for being himself, he’s still in the top, he can
write this song and sing. He still can express himself eventhough he can’t escape the
reality that he’s different. He still have his freedom in him, doesn’t metter about
anything as far as he can be himself.
The verse “Send shivers down my spine” means it hurt, it explain some previous
verses that it hurts have to leave his family & his lover to be himself. It has to be
done to reach his trueself eventhough it hurts.
He use this ancient figure of Devil/ Satan means that the writer realizes something he has
done is a sin and he realizes that he’s a sinner. Devil/ Satan also symbolize with a sin or
something bad. So, the writer use the name of Beelzebub to be his own personal devil.
