Acknowledgments

Praise is to Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala), Lord of the Universes, who gave me the
blessings and dynamism to complete my PhD. Peace and prayers to be upon his final
Prophet and Messenger Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), the
supreme role model for all humanity.
My first debt of gratitude goes to my esteemed supervisor Prof. (Dr.) Mohd. Ashraf
Ali, for his enlightening guidance and inspired supervision right from the initiation to the
culmination of this work. His thoughtful discussions, suggestions on the subject and
meticulous scrutiny of the content helped me immensely to put forth my work in the
present visage. I would express my deep sense of gratitude to my supervisor’s wife Mrs.
Farzana Ali, she always treat me as her son and cherish every time.
My special thanks to Prof. Javed Alam Khan, Chairman, Department of

I bow head in the respect of my mother Mrs. Shamim Bano, she always encouraged
me in week moments to support and liveliness. This journey would not have been possible
without her guidance and blessings. I thank her for encouraging me in all of my pursuits
and inspiring to follow my dreams. Thank you for teaching me that my job in life is to
learn, to be happy, and to know and understand myself.
I also wish to express my deep feelings for my sisters Dr. Sadia Meraj, Mrs. Rahila
Beg, Ms. Fehmina Nafees, Dr. Deeba Abrar and Ms. Arisha for their affection and
motivation. I also appreciate my brother Dr. Izhar Alam, brothers-in-law Dr. Meraj Ilahi
Warsi and Mr. Syed Tanveer Ali, Mamu Syed Akhter Ali and Mami Rizawana Akhter,
cousins Ahmad and Rehan for their love and immense support. They always boosted my
morale in carrying out my work. Without their inspiration and full-fledged co-operation it
would have been difficult for me to achieve my goal.
My words are meaningless if I forget to mention the glittering eyes, cheering smiles
and shrieking of my nephew Sartaj, Ayaan, Umair, Ata-ur-Rehman and niece Anamta and
Maryam always boost in my fatigue moments to feel revitalized.
Last but not the least a word of gratitude for all my well wishers, whom I have
mentioned or not but I recognize their contribution directly or indirectly. I will always be
