SCHOOLS DIVISION OF BATAAN

The Department of Education (DepEd), through Memorandum No. 255, series of 2011,
declared November as National Reading Month of every year, while Republic Act (RA) No.
10556 declared every 27th day of November as “Araw ng Pagbasa.”

Both directives aim to:

1. Promote reading and literacy among students;

2. Uphold one’s heritage and values;
3. Make reading a shared experience, especially among the youth, thereby increasing its
relevance amidst the growing reliance on the internet and inclination to online activities.

In light of the aforementioned provisions and this year’s theme of “Bawat Bata Bumabasa sa
Kabila ng Hamon ng Pandemya,” the Division of Bataan – English Cluster would like to
propose the proceeding activities in celebration of the 2021 Buwan at Araw ng Pagbasa:

Culmination of the Pambansang Buwan ng
Pagbasa. At 9:00 a.m. PST, all learners,
teachers, and non-teaching personnel in the
Araw ng Pagbasa,
26 November 2021 Division will Drop Everything and Read
featuring Mystery Readers
(DEAR) for at least 15 minutes. One
reading ambassador will be invited read a
story among learners across the Division.
