Networking Description
Scenario
FTTB (C) The MA5616 can be used in FTTB and FTTC scenarios to provide
voice, data, and video services for residential area users.
Enterprise Functioning as a single business unit (SBU), the MA5616 provides
private line broadband and plain old telephone service (POTS) access services.
access
Mini The MA5616 can function as a traditional mini DSLAM or MSAN to
DSLAM/MSA provide traditional voice, data, and video services.
N
Flexible Configurations
The MA5616 supports four service slots, mixed insertion of any service boards, and flexible
configuration of each port type, increasing the actual installation rate and meeting diversified
customer demands. For details about the flexible configuration, see 3.2 Hardware
Configuration.
IPv6
The IPv6 feature relieves IP address shortages and is simple to deploy, facilitating smooth
service migration from IPv4 networks to IPv6 networks. In addition, IPv6 networks can
coexist with IPv4 networks.
Dual homing and local switching that improve the voice service reliability
TDM G.SHDSL access that enables new networks to support existing services without
replacing user terminals and affecting user experience.

Table 5-4 lists the power supply parameters of the MA5616 chassis.
The static power consumption is the power consumption in the case that all ports are not activated.
The typical power consumption is the power consumption in the case that 50% broadband service
ports are activated and 25% telephones connected to the voice service ports are off-hook, and the
POTS current is 20 mA.
The maximum power consumption is the power consumption in the case that all broadband service
ports are activated and its maximum number of concurrent voice ports supported are off-hook, and
the POTS current is 20 mA.
The static, typical, and maximum power consumption are obtained when the fan rotates at a default
rate.
The power consumption of an MA5616 that uses a single gigabit Ethernet (GE) port for upstream
transmission is 0.6 W less than that of anMA5616 that uses a single GPON port. The power
consumption of an MA5616 that uses a single GPON port for upstream transmission is 11.4 W less
than that of an MA5616 that uses a single 10G GPON port for upstream transmission.
Table 5-5 lists the power consumption of the MA5616 chassis configured with
H831CCUB control board (AC-powered, GPON upstream transmission).
