SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION [SEO]

What is SEO?

SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” In layman's terms, it refers to the process of
improving your website so that it appears more prominently when people search for
products or services related to your company on Google, Bing, and other search engines.
The better visibility your pages have in search results, the more likely you are to garner
attention and attract prospective and existing customers to your business.

How does SEO work?

Google, Bing and other search engines use a variety of bots to collect and keep track of
web pages and compile them on an index. Next, taking many factors into account, the
pages are analyzed using algorithms and determine the order in which to list them on
their search engine for any specific search query.
Because people conduct trillions of searches each year, often with commercial intent to
find information about products and services, SEO is a critical component of digital
marketing. Search is frequently the primary source of digital traffic for brands,
supplementing other marketing channels. Greater visibility and higher ranking in search
results than your competition can have a significant impact on your bottom line.

What are SEO tools?

SEO tools look into the ability of web pages to rank highly in search engine results pages.
They provide data on backlinks and keywords, as well as insights into online SEO
competition. These tools can give us detailed information on what keywords any website
links to and how much a specific keyword is searched for in any time period. This can give
us an insight into how the competition has managed to stay on top during any search
queries on google, bing etc. We can use this data to improve our website so that we can
also improve our rankings on search engines.
Process of SEO

The SEO process is divided into six stages:

1. RESEARCH: Business research, competitive analysis, current situation assessment,

and keyword searches are all examples of research.

2. PLANNING STRATEGY: Decisions on how to handle content, establish links to the

website, manage social media presence, and technological implementation tactics
are all part of the planning and strategy process.

3. IMPLEMENTATION: Optimization decisions on a site’s web pages and the website

as a whole are executed

4. MONITORING: The process of observing web crawler activity, traffic, search engine
rankings, and other data in order to provide reports on which an assessment will be
made.

5. ASSESSMENT: Comparing the summary effects of the strategy (and its

implementation) to the stated goals of the SEO process.

6. MAINTENANCE: Process of dealing with minor and big issues with the website's
operation as they arise (e.g., new content that needs optimization according to the
strategy)
