PROBLEM:
The aim of this study is to highlight the importance of teaching interventions in
accordance with Bronfenbrener's Ecosystem Theory.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
Research Questions:
How does TISIPfSENs support the reading comprehension skills of
students with intellectual disabilities in secondary school?
Participants:
The student with intellectual disability was 16 years old and attended the
first grade of High School in Peloponnese, Greece.
FINDINGS:
Microsystem level, and in particular, the binary relationship between
teacher of special education and the mentally disabled student, the
differentiated material contributed positively to the student's active
participation in the syllabus (literacy curriculum).
Mesosystem level, it has been observed that special education teacher
and collaboration with other adults is an essential prerequisite for
effective teaching intervention.
CONCLUSIONS:
Students with intellectual disability can participate in the learning
process using Targeted, Individual, Structured, Integrated Program for
Students with Special Educational Needs (TISIPfSENs).
