If you ever wanted to give a child a gift I can’t think of one greater than what
this lady gave. I came across a young lady named Bonnie she had oh so gor-
geous hair, long and blonde. A lot of women would kill for hair like hers!
This particular day Bonnie mentioned that she was going to cut her hair. So
my thought naturally was why? Bonnie response was she normally would
just take off about 2-3 inches but this time she was going to take at least 10
inches off and donate it to Locks of Love.
Wow was my response what made you want to do that? Bonnie told me her
reason was she had read an article that 65% of women consider not receiving
treatment for cancer in fear of losing their hair. In amazement I told her that
was my mothers fear when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I would
have never guessed that so many other women felt that way. Of course my
mother received her chemotherapy, and in remission. Bonnie also had an ex-
perience that hit home also.
I asked Bonnie why Locks of Love? Bonnie said that after reading the article
she thought more about it and researched donating. Locks of Love donates to
children who are under privilege with permanent hair loss. They give young
people a chance at a normal childhood. Evoking confidence, and reassurance
to day to day life.
Bonnie had a point “if your going to cut it anyway give it a purpose! So
many salons just throw it away.”
This conversation moved me so I did a little research on Locks of Love and
found that they have helped many children with alopecia. So I am sharing
this with you and hoping that you will take Bonnie’s suggestion and give a
gift that will keep giving to a child. If you go to www.locksoflove.org you
too can make a difference. Maybe you can talk to your salon or stylist and
ask them to be a sponsor. So when they cut some ones hair that they donate
the hair to a child in need.
Together we are making this world more beautiful and confident one head,
one child at a time.

Dot.Com
is a group of
teens who have taken ac‐
tion in our commu‐ nity by donat‐
ing their time to help those who are in need of help. Many of them
come from single parent homes and live the struggle day to day
with those they love. So together, although very different they de‐
cided to make a positive from a negative. Instead of creating a
gang the young ladies created a business that will benefit others
like them that brings laughter, joy, and hope to many lives and es‐
pecially other teens.
We wanted to share Dot.Com’s vision and hopes with all of Ne‐
vada. These teens have inspired many in our city of Las Vegas
with their TV show “TEEN TALK with Dot.Com” The talk show
takes on many forms such as a teen forum where teens speak
freely without repercussions, but also allows adults to know what
really is in their minds and hearts. This is where teens can get
real heart to heart advice from those who care and understand.
Their Peers!
“Teen Talk with Dot.Com” is supervised and directed by adults
who have taken the time to understand that teens are people with
a lot on their minds. Our teens are full of pressure and need true
meaningful release and understanding. This group of teens offers
guidance, laughter, and great entertainment by local talented
teens. So join Dot.Com once a month to Live, Love, & Laugh.
