2021 ANNUAL IMPLEMENTATION PLAN ON SCHOOL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (DRRM)

I. BRIEF DESCRIPTION AND GENERAL OBJECTIVES:


DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT (DRRM) is the systematic process of using administrative directives , organizations and operational skills and capacities to implement
strategies, policies and improved coping capacities in order to lessen the adverse impacts of hazards and the possibility of disaster occurrence , and in accordance to Do 37 s., 2015
“Comprehensive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) in Basic Education Framework “ to guide DRRM efforts in the basic education sector towards resilience-building in
offices and schools, and to ensure that quality education is continuously provided and prioritized even during disasters and/or emergencies.This Framework shall institutionalize DRRM structures,
systems, protocols and practices in DepEd offices and schools and shall provide common understanding and language in the implementation of DRRM in basic education at all levels.

The programs aims to :

1. Provide guidance to school DRRM Coordinators on how to act before , during and after occurrence of natural and human –induced hazards and emergencies;
2. Capacitate the school DRRM Coordinators, school heads and other DepEd constituents to natural and human –induced hazards and emergencies
3. Facilitate immediate and effective information flow during occurrence of natural and human –induced hazards and emergencies;
4. To promote public awareness and encourage involvement of parents in DRRM Activities ;
5. To direct and monitor the implementation of different DRRM activities as specified in the school action plan;
6. To prepare the necessary DRRM documentation and reports using the prescribed forms;
7. To validate schools for BEST DRRM Implementers in the Division.
