Kindness is contagious. It decreases pain, stress, anxiety, depression, and blood pressure. It is also
known to increase oxytocin and serotonin in our body, boost our energy, and lengthens our lifespan
(randomactsofkindness.org).
Do a random act of kindness this week. Document your experience by writing a narrative and taking
pictures of the act.

Figure 1: Actual picture of the siomai.

Whenever I eat, whether it's street food or a fast-food chain, when someone asks me to eat, the same
food I'm eating if I can afford it Do not hesitate to give them. Especially if the person who asked me is a
child or an old man because he can't work to buy what he needs. I always share my blessings, if not so
many, if I help someone. It makes me feel strange happiness.

In that picture above, it was taken last Wednesday when I was eating siomai at our kanto. I little boy
approaches me and asked me some money, instead of giving him money, I order another siomai for him
so that he can eat. As much as possible, I do not give money to the young ones because they will often
use it in the internet shop or other bad things instead of buying food that will help them ease their
hunger.

As a matter of fact, when Jayvee and I are eating at shawarma located at outside the mall, a young boy
with poor clothes approached me while holding his stomach indicating that he is hungry. We were about
to pay for what we eat when he came. So, I asked him if he wanted to eat, and he said yes so, I handed
him a P50 bill so that he can eat, but as I was wearing my jacket and helmet ready to drive off the
Shawarma, he did not buy anything in the store, but he ran off across the street where the internet café
is located. Without any hesitation, I removed my helmet and go after him, I confronted him and
demanded him to give back my money back because clearly, he will just use it to play online games.
Without a word, he just gives the money back and ran away.

As I was about to start my motorcycle, I saw another boy with a very poor looks pushing a wooden cart
with his little sister sitting on it. I quickly called him and handed the money and said to him that he will
use this money to buy some food and he just nodded happily and say thank you very much to me. I felt
happy because I helped someone that day, even if it is not that much but is it all the money, I have left
that day. I always say to myself “Bahala na basta makatulong ako kahit papaano, God will provide.”

I will always help someone if I can. It is my way of thanking God for everything that he has done to me
and my family. This is a true story not fabricated for whatever reason. It might sound fake, but it is real. I
may not be kind looking but trust me I am kind, no charots. I am encouraging anyone to help others
specially those street dwellers in any kind of help whether is it in kind or prayers. Because they really
need help.
