10-20 Minute
Lesson Plan
Speed Multiplication
Hand out the 3 page, double sided, single digit
multiplication worksheets located in this file.
Set the classroom timer for 7 minutes.
Instruct the students to work quickly but
accurately. Tell them that the 3 students who
get the most problems done correctly will get
10 good behavior tokens as a prize. After the
timer goes off, have each student pass their
worksheet to the student to their left. Give the
answer for each problem and have the students
check each other’s work.
5-10 Minute Lesson
Plan #1
Have the students take turns drawing circles and dividing them into
fractions of your choice on the white board.
5-10 Minute Lesson
Plan #2

• Use this time to ask the students

if there are any things they’ve
learned in class this year that they
don’t quite understand. Focus on
one or two items and note any
remaining items so that they can
be revisited with the students at a
later time.
Ask the students about their favorite
holidays. Go around the room and give
5-10 Minute every student a chance to answer.

Lesson Plan Tally the votes for each holiday on the white
board and then illustrate the fraction
#3 through a drawn pie chart at the end of the
discussion. Show the students how the tally
marks translate into fractions of a whole.
