1.What does the caricature try to illustrate in terms of:
A. The political situation of the Philippines during the American period
 The caricature of the Philippines' political situation during the American period is
used to depict how politics, politicians, and events, such as how Filipinos are
treated during the American period. Caricatures of political situations in the
Philippines intended to portray how corrupt the government was during the
American era. Furthermore, caricature has a vital function in providing and
encouraging freedom of speech for people.
B. The Catholic centered Spanish-Filipino Society
 According to what I have researched, Islam was introduced to the Philippines in
the late 14th century through exchange with merchants from Malaysia, Indonesia,
and the Middle East, long before the coming of Catholic missionaries and
explorers from Spain. Furthermore, the caricature of Catholic-centered Spanish-
Filipino society desires to portray that Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan's
journeys later in the 16th century were the first to bring Catholicism to the
archipelago, which was actually named St. Lazarus' Islands. however, it was later
changed to its original title in honor of Philip II of Spain, who ruled from 1556 to
1598.
C. The status of the Filipinos
 The caricature depicts the Filipinos' suffering under the hands of the Americans
by demonstrating how badly they were treated during the American era.
Furthermore. They wanted to show in the caricature that Filipinos are not treated
fairly, that they are controlled and treated as slaves, with unequal incomes, being
discriminated, and a corrupt administration.

2. How is the Philippine cartoons relevant at present time?

 Philippines cartoons, also known as caricatures, are works of art in which real-life
figures are exaggerated through drawings and sketches to achieve a comedic
impact. To continue, Philippine cartoons are relevant in this day because
caricature expresses the opinions of people who aren't good at expressing
themselves verbally but are good at expressing themselves through art.
Furthermore, the caricatures represent the public's perceptions of current events or
issues.
