2018 YEAR END ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

I. INTRODUCTION

The goal of education in the 21st century is the mastery of information,

embedded knowledge and understanding and the advanced use of technology in

society. It should allow our students to also master the learning process, to engage

with their curriculum, own and direct their learning in their own individual and

flexible ways.

In order to educate in the 21st century, teachers and administrators need to

cultivate and maintain the student's interest in the material by showing how this

knowledge applies in the real world. They must also try to increase their student's

curiosity, which will help them become lifelong learners. They should also be

flexible with how they teach and give learners the resources to continue learning

outside of school.

Barucboc National High School anchors to such principle where it

perseveres to implement orders, memorandums and policies of the Department of

Education akin to the realization of learners’ potentials. It hones resiliency

between and among internal and external stakeholders to deliver the best

educational outcomes. Much of the success of the school for this year is due to

targeted community work and strong partnership to parents.

Likewise, the different projects and programs help to promote

inclusive education and massive participation of stakeholders. It cultivates the

spirit of unity, collaboration and partnership.

Furthermore, students’ academic achievement is extending upward

since the school garners recognition or awards not only in the local but national

level. This proves that faculty competence development is effective.

On the other hand, MOOE and other financial matters are spent much

on instructional development which facilitates quality learning inside and outside

the classroom.

Generally, Barucboc NHS year-end report captures the undying drive

and energy in pursuing quality education. It reflects the true inner workings- faces,

smiles, curious and determined eyes, passionate hearts and boundary pushing

minds of its stakeholders.

5. MATHEMATICS MONTH NARRATIVE

Reflecting on Romans 12:4-5, “For just as each of us has one body with many

members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we,

though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others". This

reminds of how the Mathematics Department is functioning. The subject area had

some innovations this month which were successfully implemented because they were

working as one, together with the administration of Barucboc National High School.

The Math Department had constructed its own Bulletin of information which serves

as a learning hub for the students and venue for them to see for list of their teachers

and fellow students who will assist them regarding the lesson they had a difficulty

with.

We use math in every aspect of our lives at work and in practical everyday

activities at home and beyond. Good numeracy is essential to us as parents helping

our children learn, as patients understanding health information, as citizens making

sense of statistics and economic news. Decisions in life are so often based on

numerical information: to make the best choices, we need to be numerate. So, the

department also launch a tutorial program for those students identified as poor in

numerates. The purpose of the tutorial is to develop an individual student’s capacity to

think in depth about a subject area, and to operate with growing confidence within its

techniques and methodologies, with the expectation that the process will promote

increased understanding of the discipline for both tutor and student and increase

students mathematical ability especially in solving worded problems. The students

who needs remediation were identified and disseminated to teachers and students

involved for the success of this Program. The tutors are Dhannabelle M. De Lara,

Graze S. Natividad, Riandea S. Condino, Math Wizards officers and some of the
students inclined in Mathematics. The tutors meet their students twice a week and it is

scheduled Tuesday and Friday. We also used the time of lunch break and ICL to

maximize students to help their classmates in terms of numbers.

The Department also launched 2017 MTAP DepEd Saturday Programs in

Mathematics for Learners. This program covers six Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 n.n.

from September to October. The program aims to awaken interest in Mathematics

among students of at Barucboc National High School; provide students the

opportunity to explore Mathematics without threat of tests; & prepare talented

students for the Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge Competition. The

numbers of attendees for the said sessions were as follows: 46 Grade 7 students, 18

Grade 8, 19 Grade 9 and 15 Grade 10 a total of 99. The program was successfully

conducted and MTAP participants for each curriculum where identified through the

result of classroom elimination.

8. GRADE 10 CURRICULUM PROJECT – ECO COMPOSTING
RECEPTACLE

Narrative Report

The mission of the Department of Education is to promote the right of every

Filipino to quality, equitable, cultured – based and complete basic education where
the students learn in a child – friendly, gender – sensitive, safe and motivating
environment. To be able to have a safe and a child – friendly learning institution, the
school conducted a symposium purposely to educate not only the learners on proper
waste segregation which is the main cause of climate change.
After the said symposium and continuing education on proper waste
segregation, the BASYANG family believes that it will improve proper sanitation
than just throwing wastes at our backyards. It also prevents mosquito breeding with
the proper management of waste segregation.
In this connection, the Grade 10 curriculum decided to construct an Eco –
Composting Receptacle (ECR) to maintain proper waste segregation of the
curriculum. This project is spearheaded of the two advisers of the said curriculum
Mrs. Riandea S. Condino and Mrs. Riza M. Asuncion with the support of the parents
of grade 10 students.
Aside from continuous information education to students on proper waste
segregation, the grade 10 students also use this waste as income generating project for
classroom improvement and maintenance.

9. READING PROGRAM-FILIPINO

Narrative Report

For all knows, Reading is a tool a person gets information from written letters
and words. A person can read using sight or sight or touch, such as when a vision-
impaired reads Brailed- method.
Reading is actually a complex, multipart process. Reading in classroom takes
many forms, but it is often used as way of introducing grammar or vocabulary items.
At the most basic level reading is the recognition of words from simple
recognition of the individual letters and how these letters form a particular words to
what each word means not just on an individual, but as part of a text.
May 2017 upon enrollment, the students undergo with diagnostic process and
from that process we determined students needing remediation. The objective of this
program is to determine the reading level of the student.
Part of this activity, we teachers, can easily identify students, in there
particular domain which they can failed to exhibit / peform. Barucboc National High
School language teachers conducted from grade 7 to grade 10 the class reading pre
test.
Month of August, schedule for Reading is done and disseminated to teachers
involved for the success of this Program. The tutors are Helen O. Navarro, Riza M.
Asuncion, Esmael R. Navarro, language officers and some of the honor students. The
tutors meet their students twice a week and it is scheduled Monday and Wednesday.
We also used the time of lunch break and ICL to maximize students to help their
classmates in terms of reading.
Language teachers participated in this activity to enhance the ability of the
frustrated students through Pull-out remedial Class which will result into each of them
will be able to master a word every day, construct a sentence out of the given word
and finally they may be able to formulate their own paragraph from the sentences that
they have constructed.
The students know how to read already also participated to this Program. With
their vacant time they lend their hands to poor readers. As a reward to them they have
given an extra point in their performance in Filipino subject as an application for what
they have learned from their lessons.
