Assignment Brief For CPD Assignment 2:


An individual 1,500-word reflective report: Using a learning model or theory or both to describe in
summary which 7 topics you consider most interesting to you and your take what you have learnt this
module in general. The strategy you adopted in carrying out your scholarship in this module and what
you could have done better and what you would like to see improved.

1. Development Plan (worth 20% of the marks)

In this section you should provide details of what you hope to have learned by the end of this
module. Areas you should consider are as follows:

• What do I want / need to learn? You need to refer to the module learning outcomes in
this section.

• What will I do to achieve this?

• What resources or support will I need?

• What will my success criteria be?

• Target dates for review and completion

2. Development Record (worth 40% of the marks)


The development record should provide an overview account of what you have learned whilst
studying this module. Areas you should consider are as follows:

• Key dates

• What did you do?

• Why?

• What did you learn from this?

• How have / will you use this. Any further action you will take.

N.B. In this section you should include lectures, group meetings and study out with class.

3. Learning Review: Reflection on your coursework (worth 30% of the marks)

In this section you are required to provide a reflective statement of approximately 500 words in
relation to the group report. The aim of this review is to prompt consolidation of learning
achieved whilst undertaking the assignment. Questions guiding your evaluative reflection are as
follows:

• How do you know that learning has occurred?

• What helped/hindered the process of analysis?

• Are you satisfied with


o your approach?
o the analysis / conclusions?
o the presentation?
o What would you do differently next time, in a similar task?
o What action will you take as a result of what you have learnt while doing this
assignment?
4. Referencing, bibliography, grammar, and flow of logical argument (worth 10% of the marks)
• What have you learnt from doing the assignment? You should allude to personal and
academic learning. Including underpinning references will enhance your mark.
Note UWS seriously discourages the use of web sites such as Investopedia, Wikipedia, UK Essays etc. In order for your
presentation to be excellent, you must use at least 5 journal articles, the core textbook and credible websites like ACAS, CIPD
and other government websites
