1. Do you think Filipinos still need a hero like Dr. Jose Rizal?

- Yes, because Jose Rizal was really a good model for everyone. He didn’t use any
violence to fight for his country. So naniniwala pa ako na kailangan pa din nating mga
Filipinos ang katulad ni Dr. Jose Rizal.

2. How did the documentary film shape the way Filipinos perceive their nation?

- Pinakita sa documentary film ang mga kasaysayang hindi nakita ng mga kabataan
ngayon. Pinakita kung ano ang pagkakaiba ng noon at ngayon.

3. How can Filipinos benefit from Rizal's ideals?

- They can benefit by actually looking at what Rizal, as an individual, accomplished. He


rose up against the oppressive Spanish government by empowering the minds of
Filipinos. He also believed in ideas rather than force influencing people. Any Filipino can
apply this by refraining from hitting their children as a punishment or by not using force
to influence them.

4. As youth of today, what is your role in shaping the future of our country?

- As a youth all I can say is that I will do my part as a human being and help my country in
all ways that I can. Another is to vote wisely. Vote for the leader you think can really help
the country. The future is in our hands now.

5. How did the documentary film affect students' ideals?

- For me, if I were in that era I would probably be thinking about our futures too. The film
affects me in a way that I should fight in non violence especially when you know a lot of
people will benefit.

6. In your own point of view, what were Rizal's greatest and weakest attributes?

- Jose Rizal as national hero of the Ph his greatest attribute is he wrote books to fight
spanish without any using harmful things, his weakest is when spanish people abusing
Filipinos.

7. In our current situation, how do you think Rizal would react at this moment?
- According to Melchor Pelleja, If Rizal were alive today he would be surprised with how
people value nationalism and love of country nowadays. It is as if the sacrifices he and
his compatriots made were wasted.

8. How is history shaping the Philippines today?

- The Philippines: From Earliest Times to the Present seeks to present, briefly, the reality
of an advanced indigenous culture certainly influenced but not erased by more than
three centuries of Spanish occupation. Philippines but also in recognizing that often the
histories of developing countries fail to seriously take into account the local population,
their culture, their actions, their vision of the world.

9. Is preserving culture and heritage important?

- Yes, because it gives the members of a specific group a feeling of connection and
oneness. The value of cultural heritage isn’t in cultural manifestation itself. But in the
wealth of experience and skills passed down from generation to generation.

10. As a student, how would you continue the sacrifices of our National Hero?

- Bilang isang estudyante gagawin kong inspiration lahat ng sacrifices ng ating mga
bayani. At gagawin ko ang part ko bilang isang kabataan para sa ikabubuti ng ating
bansa, hindi para sa atin kundi para sa hinaharap.
