1. Imitative

Assessment Example: Give students a poetry, after that ask the students to read and speak the
poetry in front of the class.

Scoring criteria:

3 - Excellent and correct pronunciation

2 - Acceptable pronunciation

1 - Partially correct pronunciation

0 - Unacceptable, silent, or incorrect pronunciation

2. Intensive

Assessment Example: A good way to assess a student's ability to produce short stretches of
discourse (no more than a sentence) is to ask questions with antonym-based responses like in or
out, allowing the student to respond within the limits of the question, that is Antonym-Prompted
Response.

Examples:

1. T: Which food do you like? Fried chicken or fried rice?


S: I like fried chicken.
2. T: Whether the rabbit is walking or jumping?
S: The rabbit is jumping.
3. T: Whether is good? A diligent person or a lazy person?
S: A diligent person.
Scoring criteria:

3- Students more understand and know the answer

2- Students are able to predict responses that are not very precise

1- Students are unable to respond

3. Responsive

Assessment Example: Short question, how does he/she express the answer to the question that
has been asked of him/her.

Example:

A: How was the Math test earlier?

F: The test is very exciting, I managed to solve and answer

Scoring criteria:

3- Students are able to recognize and express what they will answer

2- Students are able to recognize the questions raised but are unable to express them

1- Students cannot express the answer at all

4. Interactive

Assessment Example: Through telephone calls, each student's assignment is given to be


discussed together with their partner through telephone calls, for example discussing their
opinion about the news that happened lately.

Scoring criteria:

3- Students really understand the topic and are able to have good discussions

2- Students are able to understand the topic of the discussion but cannot discuss it

1- Students cannot understand and discuss about the topic


5. Extensive (Monologue)

Assessment Example: Speech, the rules for effective assessment must be invoked: (a) specify the
criterion, (b) set appropriate tasks, (c) elicit optimal output, and (d) establish practical, reliable
scoring procedures.

Scoring criteria:

3- Qualify all rules

2- Only fulfills some of the rules

1- Does not meet rules at all
