ABOUT THE COURSE

Th

The course is geared to those subjects that may be on the Business Law portion of the CPA
exam. Currently, the CPA exam covers the following topics in business law: agency, contracts,
contract defenses, UCC sales, pass through entities, securities (Securities Act of 1933 and the
sh

Securities Exchange Act of 1934. If you took a BADM 300 survey course, there will be some
overlap, but refreshing your business law memory is a plus!

The material is categorized into four units. Each of the four units will last about four weeks,
including through Spring break. For each unit, you will be asked to read a specified chapter in
the textbook and watch the corresponding micro lecture videos for those chapters. Each week,
you will be asked to take a 20 point quiz. The fourth week you will take a Test for 130 points.
For extra credit of 2 points each week, you will asked to answer 10 practice questions. All
materials, the quiz, the prompt, the practice questions and during the test week, the test, will
all be released on Monday. These assignments each have their own due date each week. The
practice questions on Wednesday, the prompt on Friday, the quiz and tests on Sunday. (Each
set forth on course calendar).

The class moves along at a pretty fast clip. It is important that you remain current in viewing the
videos and timely preparation of assignments.

Every week, students will be given 10 “practice questions” to do. The purpose of the practice
vi y re

questions is to prepare you to take the quiz and the Test for each of the modules. Simply
undertaking the practice questions will yield extra credit of 2 points. You do not need to get the
answers to the practice questions correct, you only have to do them. If you do all the practice
ed d

questions, for each week, you could gain 24 points in total. There are three weeks of practice
ar stu

questions in each module (6 points) and there are four modules (4 x 6=24). The practice points
are opened up every Monday and they are due by 11:59pm on Wednesday of each week.

TESTS=130 Points Each
