I am a student at the University of Fort Smith studying for a degree in English with a teacher licensure. I
aim to teach high school after I graduate, though I intend to further my learning with an advance
degree. My goal is to move into teaching at a college or university in the future, using the experience I
gain from teaching in high school to prepare myself for teaching higher-ed.

EXPERIENCE
MAY, 2020 – AUGUST, 2020 & MAY 2021-CURRENT
GENERAL ASSOCIATE, WALMART
Organization—the identification of items coming in, classification of, and strategic placement with
other items, to avoid destruction of product and safe transport.

Collaboration—conducting business with other associates, planning the best procedure for operating,
and communicating often, so as to increase productivity for everyone. Overall, working together to
even the burden that every associate has to bear.

Individual achievement—keeping on time with the needs of each day; working as the need demands to
keep orders from being delayed; operating as efficiently as possible to fulfill the individual role I
provide. Though there are many associates, how well I fulfill my role dictates the difficulty faced by my
co-workers; I work hard not only for myself, but for them.

NOVEMBER 2020 – CURRENT

WRITING TUTOR, UAFS WRITING CENTER
Peer—As one of many tutors, my role brings me in contact with several people with whom I must
cooperate. Though I am one of several, our duties require communication and collaboration in order to
provide our services to students. Furthermore, tutoring is not always fun for the student. I am a writing
tutor, but I am also a student, and my expertise is in helping others understand their own skill/their
signature voice as a writer.

Tutor—My role requires a working knowledge of English language grammatical and writing
rules/techniques that has been accrued over my many years as a student, both in public school and as a
student of English-teaching. As a tutor, I also need to impart my understanding of academic standards
and formatting for university-level writing projects. I am ready to guide a student at any stage in the
writing process, from planning stage to the final revision.
