Equation of a Locus

Locus (plural Loci) generally refers to the location of an equation or set of points that
satisfies a given geometric condition. Locus is can be a point or in equation form.
Locus naturally occurs as a moving point and can be expressed as 쳌 䁠   䁞.
Equation of the locus can be written in the form ܿ ݀쳌‫ݕ‬

Illustrations and examples of a locus:

points A(4,0) and B(4,0). Find the
equation of the locus.

How to solve for the equation of the Locus

1. Write the given points and measurements.

2. Assume the locus point 䁠   䁞䁠
3. Write given geometrical condition.
4. Use distance, section, centroid, and other formula applicable in the condition.
5. Substitute in geometrical condition. Solve and Simplify to get the equation of locus.

Illustrative Examples
