A firm such as bakeshop’s capability to produce innovation strategies has

been suggested to be crucial for its success. An innovation can be a new product or

service, a new production process, or a new structure or administrative system (Hult

as “the ability to continuously transform knowledge and ideas into new products,

processes and systems for the benefit of the firm and its sstakeholders.Innovation is a

main strategic tool to have a competitive advantage in such complex environments

(Gardaker et al., 1998).

In the midst of these difficulties such as financial crises as well as competition.

Bakeshops owners. They will benefit from the study because the results may

provide valuable information to them concerning innovative strategies of bakeshops.

U

Community. It also the aim of the research to provide awareness on how bakery

shops plan to make their bakery shops stand- out among others bakery shops.

Future researcher. The research will further serve as reference document to aid

in further research in this area of study.

V. Scope and Limitations

The study will focus in Rizal and San Jose Occidental Mindoro. respondents

will be the owners of bakery shops in Rizal and San Jose Occidental Mindoro. This

study validity may be impacted by the availableness of the participants and their

cooperativeness to provide the data needed in conducting this study.

VI. Theoretical Framework

Theories of innovation are over one hundred years old, and theoretical thoughts

on the subject have multiplied in recent decades. For most of history, the theories are

not technological. One reads, again and agian, that theories of innovations come from

economics, particularly from Joseph schumpeter, as if economics were the whole

story . "the term "innovation"", states historian of technology john staudenmaier,"

appears to have originated in traditionof economic analysis " ( staudenmaier,

1985:56). Staudenmaier is not alone in this belief. "The founding framework of

innovation". Is Schumpeter, states Norbert Alter ( Alter, 2000:8). This is a common

attribution of innovations origin or ancestry ( for example, Martin, 2008; Fagerberg

and Verspagen, 2009). A dominant and economically-oriented field is responsible for

U

such a historiography. However, theories are far more diverse than the standard

historical perspective would lead us to believe.

Conceptual framework

The figure below presents the conceptual framework of the study. As shown, the

respondents profile will be determined in terms of age, sex, marital status, position,

highest educational attainment, and monthly income. On the other hand, the

dependent variable which is the innovative strategies will be measured in terms of

packaging, store display, and promotion. Moreover the dependent variable which is

the level of performance of bakeshops will be measured in terms of profitability,

expansion and customers relation. Furthermore, the lines that connects the

respondents profile, independent variables and dependent variables indicate the

Operational definition of terms

For cleaner and better understanding of this study, the following key terms where

defined operationally as used in this study.

Packaging. Packaging is the science, art and technology of enclosing or protecting

products for distribution, storage, sale, and use. Packaging also refers to the process of

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

This chapter provides a detailed literature review on the research topic. Different

sources relevant to the study were used in this chapter. The literature review is based

on the research objectives.

According to Manuel 2013, starting a business is a dream of millions of Filipinos.

Being the boss, getting rich and doing what one likes among the promised benefits of

being an entrepreneur that are hard to resist. This is all may come true, but succeeding

in a virtue is not that easy especially for those with no business background or

experience? For most people who are not business majors, taking a few years off to

study business is feasible. Nevertheless, if one wishes to improve chances for success,

it is critical that he supplements his knowledge by studying the necessary skills

needed to operate a small business for a medium-size business.

INNOVATIVE STRATEGIES

Burnett(2000) detailed, an effective marketing strategy will help you to define

the overall direction and goal for marketing. Your strategy should articulate how you

are going to deliver your products or services in ways that satisfy your costumers.

Once you have defined your target market, you need to start developing and
U

implementing tactics or ways to reach them.

According to Ducker (2013), strategic marketing as seen as a process consisting

of analyzing environment, market competitive, business factors affecting the

corporation and threats and forecasting future trends in business areas of interest for

the enterprise, and participating in setting objectives and formulating corporations

DRIVEN FACTORS AFFECTING BUSINESS

Burnett (2000) also urged that behind the successful business are stories of

struggles of entrepreneurship. Throughout the theoretical history of entrepreneurship,

scholars from multiple disciplines in the social science have grappled with a diverse

set of interpretations and definitions to conceptualize this marketing abstract idea.

Solovic (2004) detailing a few factors on how to be successful in the business.

Choosing the right price for products or services will help you maximize profits and

also builds strong relationship with your costumers.By pricing effectively, you will

also avoid the serious financial consequences that occur if yo price too low(not

enough profit) or too high (not enough sales). The workforce remains a major

problem for most countries, as the young generation is not enticed enough to become

skilled bakers, pastry chefs or confectioners.

CHALLENGES OF BAKERY
U

According to Brian Hill, poorly operated bakeries waste ingredients and labor,

increasing expenses and lowering profit margins. Inadequate equipment results in the

waste of cakes and breads not properly baked.

Joana Oancea detailed, that the industry is (still) faced with the negative image

of bread.the workforce remains a major problem for most countries, as the young

generation is not enticed enough to become skilled bakers, pastry chefs or

confectioners.

It was clearly aforementioned related literature and studies that the bakeries are

currently and existing faced to a various negativities and problems though it was the

time where all matters are in technological advancements. One of the reasons behind

this problem was the mis-scale of the the products and poorly operated of the

business. It was stress out that to become a successful business in not just by only

relied on financial or capital but for its stratigies implied and must be applied. This

thought was supporting by various related literatures and studies on innovative

strategies foe bakery shop.

of the study, research instrument, data gathering procedure and data analyses

to be utilized by the researchers to complete the study.

Locale of the study
