 Abstract

Students form a main part of any institution that concerns with. But the institutions find it difficult
to keep details of so many students of the organization just in one stretch. It will involve a lot of
pen paper work. Sometimes there will be some huge heap of files bundled up and kept together in
some corner of the office. If you want any information regarding the particular student then it can
be obtained by just entering the roll number or the name of the student to be searched. This student
management system will make the work of storing the data in an organized way. The student
management system application will help in managing the student's data , personal information. It
will also help in saving time and effort. The user interface must be user friendly and easy to
understand. The information of the particular student will be obtained in just one mouse click. In
the Software we can register as a user and user has of two types, student and administrator.
Administrator has the power to add new user and can edit and delete a user. A student can register
as user and can add edit and delete his profile . Our software has the facility to give a unique id for
every student and stores the details of every number. The data can be retrieved easily. The data are
well protected for personal use and makes the data processing very fast.

 INTRODUCTION
1.Introduction
An organized and systematic office solution is essential for all universities and organizations.
There are many departments of administration for the maintenance of college information and
student databases in any institution. All these departments provide various records regarding
students Most of these track records need to maintain information about the students. This
information could be the general details like student name, address, performance, attendance ete or
specific information related to departments like collection of data. All the modules in college
administration are independent. They are maintained manually. So they need to be automated and
centralized as, Information from one module will be needed by other modules. For example when
a student needs his course completion certificate it needs to check nuny details about the student
like his name, reg number, year of study, exams he attended and many other details. So it needs to
contact all the modules that are office, department and examination and result of students.

With that in mind, we overhauled the existing Student Database Management System and made
necessary improvement to streamline the processes Administrators using the system will find that
the process of recording and retrieving students information and managing their classes, including
marking of attendance, is now a breeze. In general, to enhance efficiency and at the same time
maintain information accurateness. Later in this project aims report, features and improvement that
allow achievement to this goal will be demonstrated and highlighted. Our work is useful for easy
user interface. We are planning to uttilize the powerful database management, ilata retrieval
anstata manipulation. We will provides more eas for managing the data than marmally maintaining
in the documents. Our work is useful for saving valuable. tune and reduces the huge paper work.

1.2 Objectives
The objective of Student management System is to allow the administrator of any organization to
edit and find out the personal details of a student and allows the student to keep up to date his
profile .It‟ll also facilitate keeping all the records of students, such as their id, name, mailing
address, phone number, DOB etc. So all the information about an student will be available in a few
seconds. Overall, it‟ll make Student Information Management an easier job for the administrator
and the student of any organization.

Objectives :

 It provides "better and efficient" service.

 Reduce the workload of an institute.
 Faster way to get information about the students.
 Provide facility for proper monitoring, reduce paper work and provide data security .

 EXISTING SYSTEM

Using manual system to manage the students which are records all information and in the book or
paper was causing the job of the teachers becomes more and troublesome. The record in the have a
possibility missing or destroy when happen any accident. While now already have the school use
the computer to manage the student information, but both of the systems they use are already
outdated. The system they use all are standalone and separately, one system only have one
function. This was cause teacher harder to use all the system on the same time. The separately
system without connection with each other also cause the same data and information the needed
key in in every system. All the details of the student are maintained in a single record. So
searching and upgrading the details is a tedious task. Also there is a chance of errors. If filed a
query to search or update in a manual system, it will take a lot of time to process the query and
make a report which is a tedious job. As the system used in the institute is outdated as it requires
paper, files, and binders, which will require the human workforce to maintain them. To get
registered in the institute, a student in this system should come to the university. Get the forms
from the counter while standing in the queue which consumes a lot of the student‟s time as well as
of the management team. As the number of the student increases in the institute manually
managing the strength becomes a hectic job for the administrator. There is a chance of data loss in
case of any physical damage is encountered or in case of any natural disaster.

 PROPOSED SYSTEM
Current system has encountered with many limitations. The suggested system hits the restrictions
found in the current system. There exists lot of advantages in a proposed system that is the system
is complete package.In our proposed system we have the provision for adding the details of the
studentsby themselves. So the overhead of the school authorities and the teachers is become
less.Another advantage of the system is that it is very easy to edit the details of the student
anddelete a student when it found unnecessary. The student management system is an environment
where all the process of the student in the institution is managed. It is done through the automated
computerized method. This system saves the time of the student and of the administrator. It
includes processes like registration of the student‟s details, maintenance of the record. This
system reduces the cost and workforce required for this job. As the system is online the
information is globally present to everyone. This computerized system stores all the data in the
database which makes it easy to fetch and update whenever needed. The student management
system allows authorized members to access the record of academically registered students. It can
be used in various educational institutes across the globe and simplifies working of institutes. This
project helps in maintaining the database of the students in any educational organization. We can
easily access any students information anytime and can be kept safely for long period of time
without any damage.

 Future Scope and Conclusion
FUTURE SCOPE :

 In the Future one can upgrade this system to store subject video lectures under different
professor names and also maintain the previous year‟s question papers in it.

 In the Future Student can also be able to upload or download notes.

 We will see the entire system more interactive and more visually appealing also be able to
give statistics data.

 The whole system will be made available as an android application for far more ease of use
and mobility .

 The portal can be used to take day to day attendance and automatically send an SMS to the
students and their parent.

 Students can directly fill a resume forum system will use artificial intelligence and sent the
resume to companies as per student requirement and eligibility criteria.

 The present system may be further upgraded in future even maintain the activities in hostel
like hostel mess bill and attendance system even in hostels.

CONCLUSION :

Simplicity is never simple. As we have seen in this project the process of creating a user friendly
and straightforward platform that facilitates the administrator's job is one filled with complexity.
From understanding user requirements to system design and finally system prototype and
finalization, every step requires in-depth understanding and commitment towards achieving the
objectives of the project.

Although the student database management module is not fully integrated to the system and used
on real time, the system prototype demonstrates case navigation and data are stored in a systematic
way Overall, efficiency has improved and work processes simplified. Although all the objectives
have been met the system still has room for improvement. The system is robust and flexible
enough for future upgrade sing advanced technology and devices.
