Behind the scenes, you update the jukebox’s music content on line via TonchTunes’ web-based Operator Dashboard from your office, home, or anywhere—or any computer equipped with an internet connection—alleviating the time and expense that would otherwise be involved in making a service call to the location. About This Guide This guide is intended for Operators of TouchTunes digital jukeboxes and their technicians;TouchTunes technical support and field service personnel. It explains how to convert your jukebox into a TouchTunes Digital Jukebox using the TouchTunes Conversion Kit. Unpacking and Checking Conversion Kit Components Before you install the conversion kit, you nmust ensure that you have received all hardware components and that both hardware components and the items in the parts kit are in good condition. Operators have a 14 days period to report to TouchTunes any missing or damaged parts. After this 14 day periord any missing or damaged parts will become the responsabilty of the operator. This poiey is noted on the shipping box that your TochiTunes Kit was delivered in. Contacting Touch Tunes Contacting TouchTunes Directly from the Operator Dashboard ‘You can use the Contacts page in the TouchTunes Dashboard to email many departments at TouchTunes, including Technical Support. Using the Contacts page is the easiest way to contact TouchTunes and also allows TouchTunes to respond to your question, problem or request very quickly. To access the Contacts page, choose TouchTunes Contacts and then follow the appropriate email link for the department you want to contact. Contacting TouchTunes by Phone You can also get assistance by calling the TouchTunes Technical Support department toll-free at 1-888- 711-5853. If you are outside of the toll-free area, you can still contact the TouchTunes Technical Support department by dialling 1-847-419-3300 and pressing 1 when prompted. Note: Long-distance telephone charges may apply if you are calling from outside of the toll-free area Important Prerequisite ‘Your TouchTunes Conversion Kit has been designed and provided as an economical solution for converting your previous jukebox into a full-fledged TouchTunes digital jukebox by integrating with many of your currently installed components. As such, the successful installation of your conversion kit requires that ‘your current hardware be in good working condition, Before proceeding with installation of this kit, it is imperative that you verify that all currently installed electronic components are fully finetional, You must also inspeet the cabinet or enclosuse to ensure that ithas not sustained damage that would inhibit or prevent the installation of any equipment provided with the kit— either intemally installed functional components, or externally applied aesthetic enhancements Note: steliog 2 ToochTanes Conversion Kit dees nat fx a broken jokebox! Estimated Time to Complete the Installation The degree of complexity and time to complete the conversion may vary slightly from model to model, and may depend upon the installer’s experience and comfort level with working with electronic equipment and power tools. TouchTunes” installation team has determined that a typical installation can usually be completed in 2 1/2 hours. Workflow The procedures described here, based on the experience of TouchTunes” expert installation personnel, represent a logical sequence of events and best practices for accomplishing. your conversion within the least time and with minimal difficulty. In general, the basic procedures are 1. Removal of old components: Removal creates space for the installation of the new equipment and allows for a clean, compact, and clutter-free installation with easy access to all components. This section also describes the necessary components to leave in the jukebox. 2. Installation of new components: This procedure involves installation of all TouchTunes components in the jukebox enclosure, conversion of the current amplifier, and modification of the door (as required) 3. Testing and activation of the converted jukebox: This procedure allows you to verify the success of your installation NOTE: These procedures are described in detail in the following subsections, TouchTunes JCB layout Power supply connection: J Connection. from squid wane Pris ne cable = > Ga Peis edie) Ethernet, Connection. The Power supply and JCB are mounted to a mounting board for ease of installation. The mounting board is perforated so it ean be separated to ease installations by mounting the power supply away from the ICB, due to space constrictions in some kit models. Remove only the following parts: Computer Audio video controler Volume control Communcation controler IR reciever Computer power supply (if so equipped) Do not remove the main power supply. Bill acceptor, All andio siginal cables (to amplifier, LED controller ,audio video controller) Cleaning Itis very important to clean your jukebox. Proper airflow is crucial to the maintenance of your Touch Tunes Digital jukebox. Cleaning the inside of the cabinet, especially with alcohol, is important for proper adhesion of certain hardware, as well as easy location and identification of new and old wires, and the overall life of your jukebox. Take time now to organize and dress all remaining wires, using the eabinet’s existing wise loops. The kit will be easiest to clean before installing any TouchTunes components. However, certain steps will allow you to reach different areas of the cabinet and door, so be sure to clean as you go. Assembly NOTE: Before attaching any components to your jukebox, test fit them to ensure that the appropriate connections can then be made and other jukebox components (new and old) will allow proper clearance, When. installing a ICB squid cablo, itis essential that you pre-fit the hamess ‘© Remove the ID box fiom the mounting board. © Connect the ID box to the antenna extension cable, ‘© Connect the JS from the Squid cable to the other side of the ID box, (See Figure 1.1) Figure 1.1 15 fiom Squid Calle ——=>] Antenna Cable (300299-50) Assembly (conti.) © Reinstall the ID box. ‘* Mount the RF module (antenna see picture 1.2). Figure 12 Antenna RF modile => Fasten the antenna to either the inside or outside rear of the cabinet, (Connecting to the outside rear will provide the best possible reception for the RF Remote.) ‘© Connect the antenna using the extension cable from the ID box. ‘* Remove and replace the Graphic Insert in the middle of the jukebox ‘© Replace your Bill Acceptor with the new 24v MDB Bill Acceptor. NOTE: If you didn’t order a bill acceptor with your kit be sure you are using a 24v MDB bill acceptor. ‘* Connect the I4 connection on the squid cable to the bill acceptor. ‘¢ Mount the Extemal Counter to a convienent location and attach to J7 on the squid cable. * Mount the fan assembly to the original fan opening, (See Green Arrow Figure 1.4) ‘© Fasten the metal fan guard on the rear of the cabinet. ¢ Attach the fan terminals to the provided AC fan cord then using the Run & Taps wire itinto the black: and white wire on the lighting circuit from the power plug on power supply, (See Figure 1.3) Figure 1.3 ‘© Mount the JCB Computer Assembly with screws fiom disassembly to the left-hand side of your cabinet. NOTE: When mounting the JCB computer into your cabinet you must allow 4” on the top for connections and 6” of clearance on the bottom to allow room for the hard drive to be installed. (Gee Blue Arrow on Figure 1.4) ‘* Mount the Isolation Inverter to the back of the eabinet on the right side of the JCB Computer Assembly (See Red Arrow on Figure 1.4) ‘¢ Mount the DI Box to floor of the cabinet. (See Purple Arrow in Figure 1.4) Figure 1.4 Wiring Power Strip ‘* Mount the power strip to a convenient location and plug itinto the power supply (See Yellow arrow in Figure 1.4) © Plug the JCB power supply into the power strip NOTE: We suggest blocking off the power switch or remove it from the back of the jukebox as this will prevent unwanted service calls. DAIS Amp Fora filll selection of amplifiers and mounting brackets available please go to www,TouchTunesKits.com DI Box © Plug one end of the provided CAT-5 Cable into the “IN” port of the D1 Box and the other end of the CAT-S5 Cable into the “Zone 1” outlet of the JCB Computer. Isolation-Inverter Box ‘© Theisolation-inverter box is a black box with a set of RCA-cables coming fiom each end. They are marked DI and AMP Connections. ‘* Plug the side marked DI into the DI Box. © Connect the remaining end into the left and right inputs of the Amplifier Coin Acceptor ‘© Connect the end of coin acceptor cable J3 to the end of the extension cable. The extention cable will have two black leads, These are the ground wires and can be connected to the coin switches common lug. ‘©The white wire is your quarter lead and should be connected to the normally open lug of the coin mech switch. ‘In this application the green wire is not used and should be terminated, NOTE: There is an optional credit card kit that is available for this kit that can be ordered from www.TouchTunesKits.com LED Control Settings NOTE: Audio inputs are not used in this installation. Lamps are set to random flash only. Switch Box (Please see Figure 2.0 on next page) © Plug the switch box into the power stip. ‘* Plug the monitor’s AC line cord into the switch bow. ‘© The wires for the lights are made up of'a white wire and black wire spiraled together, ‘They can be traced from any of the jukebox’s lights, and normally they plug into the power supply. © Locate this wire and isolate it at a point where the leads can easily teach it. ‘© Cut the white power wire only (WITH THE POWER DISCONNECTED) ‘© Plug the eut white wires into the terminal on the switch box. © Locate the switch box lead with the white plug atts end. Plug this into the [10 connection of the squid cable. Tum on power supply and JCB LED power indicators will illuminate 3. Press the POWER button and the 12 Volt switched LED will illuminate.
