a) Identify major body parts (e.g., head, torso, arms, legs,
hands, feet, muscles, bones).
Students will be using hangman to learn about different body
parts.
1. As the students enter the classroom, there will be a
hangman on the IWB that will include a list of body parts
and what the senses of each body part is.
2. The teacher will go over each body part that is listed on
the IWB and describe the senses. The teacher will then
ask students to associate the body parts with the senses.
3. Students will then break into groups of 3 to learn about
different body parts amongst each other and discuss their
senses by using flashcards to match the sense with each
body part. For example, the sense of smell will match
with the nose.
4. Students will then use the IWB to play hangman. The
students will place the body parts in the correct order
and will then describe what each body part is used for.
5. One the group activity is complete; all students will
receive a handout that will list body parts on the left-
hand side of the sheet and senses on the right-hand side
of the sheet. Students will then match the body part to
the correct sense by drawing a line to match.
