    I am method used in laboratory,

    A technique that you used to separate complex mixtures

    Neither black nor white

    The color is just an illusion

    Ink spots are centered

    Evenly placed on the starting line

    Notice the paper before it washed out,

    Place me not below but at the center

    Another problem is an uneven solvent front

    This can happen if the beaker is nudged

    Make me stable, don’t make me budge

    Hold onto my gaze, now, will you?
