Working Methodology for Super-Structure with Pre-Stressed Girders

Manpower Required :

Equipment required :

 Concrete Batch-Mix Plant


 Transit Mixtures
 Concrete Pump
 2 Nos. 100 MT Cranes
 1 Nos. Trailors.

Safety Precautions :

 While working at height workers will be provided with safety belts.


 All the workers will wear safety helmets & safety jackets.

Work Procedure :

 The casting yard for the girder shall be properly leveled and compacted.

 The base of girder shall be prepared with leveled PCC M-15 grade of concrete.

 The PVC sheet shall be laid over the PCC

 The binding of Reinforcement shall be done as per detailed design drawing.

 Shuttering as per detail drawing shall be erected.

 Pouring M-45 grade of concrete as per detailed design drawing shall be done with

Cocrete pump.

 Pedestal of M35 grade will be casted with plan dimensions as per detailed design

drawing.

 Elastomeric Bearing and Elastomeric Pad shall be placed over pedestal as per

detailed design drawing.

 Girder will be shifted to the site of erection from the precast yard by Trailor.

 At site, it will be lifted with the help of 2 Nos. 100MT Cranes and placed on the

Elastomeric Bearing mounted on the pedestals.

 After placing the girder, it is to be supported from both sides by using structural

bracket made up of ISMC 75 to avoid tilting of the girder.

 All the girders are to be erected and should be connected at the top with each

other using ISMC 75 (Structural members).

 End diaphragm & intermediate diaphragm will be casted as per the drawing.

 Cast-in-Situ deck slab will be kept in place, above the girders.

 Bracket will be fixed in the cantilever portion of slab and shuttering will be laid and

deck slab will be casted as per the drawing.

 Curing will be done for atleast 14 days.

 Crash-Barrier and other miscellaneous works shall be done.

 Bridge shall be opened to traffic after connecting to the approaches.
