1. What do you think are the effects if an outsider (foreigner) will write and narrate the
culture and history of the other nation? Support your answer with facts. (10points)

If the narrator of other culture and history of other nation is foreigner the narrator will see how
good the culture of that country. The narrator of this country will understand how they culture
works. One of the important to narrate culture and history is to understand first what their beliefs
respect their beliefs respect their culture. “Relationships are powerful. Our one-to-one
connections with each other are the foundation for change. And building relationships with
people from different cultures, often many different cultures, is key in building diverse
communities that are powerful enough to achieve significant goals.” It’s natural if a certain
person especially those foreigners to criticize and describe everything that they saw in a certain
nation or country. But it can also have an effect which can ruin the image of that country. But for
me it depends on the person if his/her intention is bad or not because no one or there is no
country that is perfect, every place has its own bad image. In short, the effect if an outsider
(foreigner) will write and narrate the culture and history will have both positive and negative
feedback on the image of the country. Positive, if that person describes it the way that it will help
them and give idea to convince them to try and visit it. Negative because if they describe it as
negative, others will judge it easily.

2. Based on these, why did Rizal annotate the book of Morga’s Sucesos Dela Islas
Filipinas? Read and cite other references to prove your point. (10 points)

That the annotations of Rizal are largely overlooked today stems fundamentally from
recent advances in historical, archaeological and ethnographic studies. While recent
research has reinforced many of Rizal's claims, the truth is that his work is now dated. In
fact, the annotations from Rizal are secondary, and today's scholars depend more on the
primary source, Morga, than on the notes from Rizal. Even if the National Hero wrote it.
Censorship during the Spanish colonial era was another factor in the relative obscurity of
Rizal's annotations to Morga.

3. Based on the readings and historical documents concerning the life and works (e.g Noli
Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo) of Jose Rizal, what image or expression of Rizal do
you grasp and form? (15 points)
Jose Rizal wants to show us that he loves our country. He will do anything to fight for
our country that’s why jose rizal is considered as national hero because of what jose rizal
did. If you read the noli me tangere and el fili busterismo you will see the bravery of jose
rizal. You will see how rizal reacts of what happening in our country during Spanish pre-
colonial period.

4.By means of the context of the “now” in accordance with the societal issue that you want to
investigate and examine critically, are Rizal’s ideas, visions and aspirations still relevant and
applicable? Does “Bapor Tabo” in Rizal’s “El Filibusterismo” still exist? Explain. (15 points)
