Define the following:
a. Culture
 Culture is the ways of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population
that are passed down from generation to generation.
b. Folkways
 Folkways, sometimes known as conventions or customs, are standards of
behavior that are socially approved but not morally significant.
c. Social Structures
 Social structure is the patterned social arrangements in society that are both
emergent from and determinant of the actions of individuals. Likewise, society is
believed to be grouped into structurally-related groups or sets of roles, with
different functions, meanings, or purposes.
d. Ethical System
 Ethical system of moral principles. It affects the way people make decisions and
live their lives. Ethics deals with what is good for individuals and society and is
also defined as moral philosophy.
e. Christianity
 Christianity is the faith tradition that focuses on the figure of Jesus Christ.
Christianity is an Abrahamic, monotheistic religion based on the life and
teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. It is the world's largest religion, with about 2.4
billion followers. 
f. Islam
 The word Islam means submission to the will of God. Followers of Islam are
called Muslims. Muslims are monotheistic and worship one, all-knowing God,
who in Arabic is known as Allah. Followers of Islam aim to live a life of complete
submission to Allah.
g. Hinduism
 Hinduism is more than a religion. It is a culture, a way of life, and a code of
behavior. This is reflected in a term Indians use to describe the Hindu religion:
Sanatana Dharma, which means eternal faith, or the eternal way things are
(truth). ... Unlike Buddhism, Jainism, or Sikhism, Hinduism has no historical
founder.

h. Buddhism
 Buddhism is a religion of eastern and central Asia growing out of the teaching of
Siddhārtha Gautama that suffering is inherent in life and that one can be
liberated from it by cultivating wisdom, virtue, and concentration.
i. Confucianism
 Confucianism is an ancient Chinese belief system, which focuses on the
importance of personal ethics and morality. Confucianism is best understood as
an ethical guide to life and living with strong character.
j. Cross-Cultural Literacy
 Cross-cultural literacy has been defined as understanding how the culture of a
country affects the way business is practiced.
