EXERCISE

A trapezoidal channel has a side slope of 250 to the vertical and has a
base width of 130m.

a) If the depth of flow is 4.8m, determine the hydraulic radius and


hydraulic depth.

b) Calculate the Reynolds number and Froude number for the flow if
the discharge is 750m3/s.
