A new edition is in general published twice per year when the complete documentation package is updated.
This means that if you have accessed this document from the documentation package, you may not have the very last edition. A more recent one may be available from the Alcatel-Lucent

Glossary
Y' Is or was available in the catalog and technically supported, including bug correction for the corresponding release. Release policy applis however. In other terms,
an item indicated as available on OXE R10 for instance, was supported on OXE R10 during the "Active Support Period" of Release 10 but is not today anymore
OM' Supported for migration of OXE or OpenTouch. However, the corresponding item is generally phased-out ('OUT') and no longer be available in the commercial catalog (refer to release policy for more information).
The concerned item should be compatible in case of upgrade / migration to the corresponding OXE/OT release but due to the phase-out status, no more validation tests take place.
In case an issue is detected, the software correction (if done) will be done in accordance with the software release policy, which means on the concerned OXE release if it is still in "Active Support" status and
if the issue severity justifies a software correction but not anymore on the phased-out item itself in case it is identified as the origin of the issue.
For instance, an old and phased-out board can be deployed with the last OXE release. Nevertheless, in case of an hardware or firmware issue with this board,
there is no more bug fixing and an alternative solution will have to be identified by the partner.
"N' The described configuration is not validated and is therefore not working and not supported.
NA' Not Applicable as the components of the concerned configuration are incompatible and the configuration is therefore not working.

PURPOSE OF THE DOCUMENT
This document provides information regarding the compatibility between OmniPCX Enterprise /OpenTouch software releases
applications.
The goal is to provide this information to AL-Enterprise's business partners so that they can efficiently manage and plan the
(migrations, upgrades, add-ons) of solutions being already installed at customers.
This document does not replace the ACTIS configuration tools which must be used to identify hardware and software change
former software releases of OmniPCX Enterprise and OpenTouch Business Edition.
This document does not replace feature lists of AL-Enterprise' products.
This document is limited to AL-Enterprise applications and hardware.
AL-Enterprise strongly recommends that customers upgrade the OmniPCX Enterprise / OpenTouch / Applications to the latest
order to benefit from the latest improvements.
This document is revised and issued with each new offer, which is in general twice a year (spring/autunm).
Phase-out policy
The information in this document conforms to the hardware and software phase-out policy defined by AL-Enterprise.
The Information in this documentation is maintained only for products that are still supported.
Keeping customer configurations that include phased-out products is not recommended, as they no longer benefit from any s
Enterprise.
Prerequisites
Before quoting any software upgrade, you must first make an on-site check of the installed configuration.
All upgrade processes require the following information:
- OmniPCX Enterprise/OpenTouch configuration, i.e., MAO, .SW… file of the customer installed configuration in order to use th
configuration tool.
- Existing AL-Enterprise 4400 Crystal hardware/Common hardware, such as CPU type, installed boards, …
- For all AL-Enterprise applications, the major release number (such as R10.0) and minor suffix number (ftxx).
For non-AL-Enterprise applications, you may need to contact the software editor in order to define the operation to be carried
application to work properly with the new OmniPCX Enterprise/OopenTouch release. The AL-Enterprise commitment regardin
with non-AL-Enterprise applications is limited to AAPP registered applications (see: https://applicationpartner.alcatel-lucent.c
Be aware that the AL-Enterprise Professional Services organization is able to provide a "proof of concept" service which tests
configurations and appropriate acceptance tests with your end customer. For more information and associated quotation, ple
professional.services@al-enterprise.com
Elements of methodology
Check:
- If the existing application release works with the targeted OmniPCX Enterprise / OpenTouch release.
- The phase-out status of every component of the installed configuration.
- The impact on the end-user of this upgrade in order to define a training plan according to your service portfolio.

OpenTouch
OpenTouch Edge Server (OTES)
The OpenTouch Edge Server (OTES) provides desktop sharing services to remote users currently outside the organization's firewall, in combination with a Reverse Proxy. OTES also allows anonymous/guest
users to participate in Web conferences from the Internet.
With OT2.2.1, OTES functions can be provided by a qualified third party Reverse Proxy (refer to AAPP, for qualified products) . It is strongly recommended to use the Reverse Proxy instead of OTES, as OTES
is planned to be phased out in a coming version of OT.
With OT2.3 in April 17, OTES is not available anymore. For new OT2.3 systems, use a Reverse Proxy to fulfill OTES services. For upgrade to OT2.3, the existing OTES must be removed and replaced by a
Reverse Proxy.
From April 17, OTES is not available anymore as a commercial option for OT2.2 systems.
Existing OTES 2.2 continue to be supported although it is recommended to go to RP based solution
The OTES version has to be the same as OTBE or OTMS version.

Hardware server for the OTMC/OTMS duplication can be the same reference as the Primary Server (e.g. DL120 G7 for both Server).
Nevertheless, some references are no longer in the ALE International catalogue (e.g. DL 120 G7). So, the OTMC/OTMS duplicated server can be the last reference, even if an older reference is

In some rare cases, the commercial reference is not sufficient to identify without a doubt the Appliance Server model. In such a case it is required to find out the technical reference of the Appliance Server
that is used, which is a unique identifier. The technical reference of any appliance server can be found on a sticker on the appliance server. It cannot be read from a distance with the help of software tools
or ACTIS.
