talented and mostly the talented artists belong to Cebu and Davao City.

E. Call five classmates and share your answers and find out similarities and differences of
your respective cultural identities.

birthdays, holy weeks, and any regular holidays present on calendars. I also believe that when
we comb our hair at night and cut our nails, it is equivalent to wishing my parents die at early
age. I hang out with people regardless of the status, gender and sexual orientation.

celebrate fiesta in recognition to the saints in our church.

Waway Talabucon: My family have bloodlines of Ilocano, Visayan, Waray and Native people her
in Philippines. My dialect is cebuano, visayan, bagobo and Dabawenyo. I belong to the Borne
again Christian protestant from the Roman Catholic, we use Filipino, English and Visayan words,
and we believe in both Old and New Testament of Holy Bible. I have one God, and he is Jesus. I
am part of the indigenous people of the Philippines. I celebrate christmas, birthdays, holy
weeks, and any regular holidays present on calendars. I do not believe that when we comb our
hair at night and cut our nails, it is equivalent to wishing my parents die at early age, because it
just depends on the person who believes that and those things I can do then even at night
because I am busy at work during the day so at night I can do those other things. I believe that I
am Maharlikan.

Bevirlyn Marabe: I am a Filipino. My dialect is Cebuano-dabaw. I belong to the Roman Catholic

religion. I have one God, and he is Jesus. I am not part of the indigenous people. I celebrate
Christmas, birthdays, holy weeks, and any regular holidays present on calendars.

celebrate Christmas, birthdays, holy weeks, and any regular holidays present on calendars. We
do not celebrate fiestas rather we have our Thanksgiving Sunday to give thanks for the
abundance of life that the Heavenly Father showered unto us.

What did you notice in your own cultural identity? How about those of your
classmates’?

With the help of sharing our cultural identities, I have noticed that I am not the only who
had one God. Also, we are all Filipinos except for one person who believes he is a Maharlikan. I
have noticed that we have our different religions but we believe in one God. We all celebrate
the holidays. As I asked for their cultural identities, I have noticed that we have our own beliefs
yet we still interact with each other regardless of our differences. It clearly shows that
differences does not matter, as long as we are comfortable on how we communicate, respect
overflows.

Application

1. As a multicultural citizen, how do you show care towards the locally stranded
individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic?

I show my care towards the locally-stranded individuals by keeping updates and

share their situations to ask for help from active organizations that can provide quick
response. Also, prayer is the best weapon to wish for their safety and health.

2. Do you think international linkage and collaboration is necessary to eradicate the

global pandemic? Why?

Yes it is very necessary because Philippine Government cannot handle the situation
alone without any assistance from other country. The need for rapid and urgent solutions
which international collaboration and cooperation could help each other to fight pandemic and
the urgent need for solutions to combat the pandemic increases the cost of search and
coordination needed in internationally collaborative work. Through international linkages and
collaboration, it adds up to the supplies of the materials needed for the safety of the
frontliners. And the donations of food and necessities for everyone increases as the help spread
around the globe which means it is not the time for incompetence.
