Life Cycle of Humans, Animals and Plants

I.OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of different
organisms go through life cycle which can be affected by
their environment.
B. Performance Standard
C. Learning Competency The learners should be able to compare the stages in the
life cycle of organisms. (S4LT-llg-h-13)
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Topic Life Cycle of Humans, Animals and Plants
B. Science Ideas The life cycle stages of human, animals and plants:
Human
Fetus – grows in the womb and gets its nutrition through a
tube called umbilical cords
Baby – from birth to around 2 years of age, we say child is a
baby.
Child – it is more independent than babies.
Adolescent – puberty results in changes in the body
Elderly – people not as strong as when they are younger.
Animals
Birth – Oviparous, giving birth develop inside their wombs.
Viviparous, develop and born eggs
Metamorphosis, go through a radical
transformation
Growth – pass through a growing stage
Reproduction – involves male and female gametes
Death – animals end their life by dying, lack of strength

Plants
Seeds – contain embryos within their hard skulls
Germination – growing from a seeds
Seedling – allows the plant to make its own food out of
sunlight
Adult plant – bud of the plant bloosoms into a beautiful

1.Motivation What is your favorite animals , plants? Who is your favorite
person? Do you know how they growth?
2.Presentation Now watch the videos and you will find out how they
formed/growth into adult in human , animals and plants.

3.Pre-Activity After watching the videos the class will be grouped into 3.
Each group will determine the stages of life cycle of
humans , animals and plants. They label it what are the
sequences of stages and present it in the class.
4.Activity Proper The learners answer the activity provided.

C. Explain
1.Group Presentation Each group will present their work using the work sheet.
They have 2 minutes in each group to present.
2.Discussion What are the stages of life cycle in human, animals and
plant? Describe each stage.
D. Elaborate
1.Generalization Students will write of what they have learned in today’s
discussion.
2.Application Group Activity. First Come, First Served
Students will be grouped into 5. Each group make a circle
to have a brainstorming on how they answer the given

problem. Each group choose their representative to raise


hand to answer. Each group need to give answer to what I
say. They have 10 seconds to answer. I give what types of
life cycle and students gives what are the belonging in that
life cycle.
For example: animal life cycle Answer: Dog
The group that has the high score will be a winner.

Students will write what they can do to their respective


groups doing the activity.
A.Evaluate Check the appropriate column where the given stages
belong.
