ADDENDUM TO THE MEMORANDUM ON THE CHILD PROTECTION UNIT


(CPU) CONTESTS FOR THE NATIONAL CHILDREN’S MONTH

1. Relative to Memorandum from the Office of the Undersecretary of Field Operations,


Palarong Pambansa Secretariat, DEACO and CPU titled Addendum to the
Memorandum on the Child Protection Unit (CPU) Contests for the National
Children’s Month dated December 1, 2021, this office through its Child Protection
Committee highly encourages all public schools to participate in different contests –
Poster Making, Essay Writing and Video Essay.
2. The following dates shall be considered:

December 15 - 16, 2021 District Level Competition
January 4, 2022 Congressional Level Competition
January 5, 2022 Submission of entries for the Division Level
January 6, 2022 Division Level Competition
January 7, 2021 Submission of entries for the Regional Level
Note: The conduct of the contests will be managed by the child protection focal
person of each level.
3. Division qualifier entries must be uploaded to this link https://bit.ly/2022CPUContests
with the file name format of NAME OF DISTRICT_SCHOOL_Name of the Participant
(e.g. Lian_LianES_Maria A. Dela Cruz). The uploader must only use DepEd account.

Annex A

POSTER MAKING CONTEST


a. This contest is for Grades 4 - 6
b. The participant will make a poster based on the National Children’s Month
theme “New Normal na Walang Iwanan: Karapatan ng Bawat Bata Ating
Tutukan!”.
c. The participant will make a poster using ½ illustration board with white
background in vertical and the medium for visual artistry shall only be limited
to oil pastel and shall be provided by the participant.
d. In doing the poster making, the participant shall a take video from the
beginning until the finished poster, showing also the materials (time lapse
video – 2 min) and photo while doing the activity.
e. The said poster making contest shall have school, district, area and division
level. Only the four (4) congressional level winners shall qualify in the Division
Level
f. Division qualifier entries must be uploaded to this link
https://bit.ly/2022CPUContests with the file name format of NAME OF
DISTRICT_SCHOOL_Name of the Participant (e.g. Lian_LianES_Maria A.
Dela Cruz). The uploader must only use DepEd account.
g. CPU-DepEd staff and their relatives up to the third degree of consanguinity or
affinity are not eligible to join.
h. All entries shall be considered property of the CPU-DepEd and may be used
by the Unit for publication and any other legal purpose.
i. Upon joining the contest, student contestants who are over 18 years of age,
or their parents, guardians, or caregivers, if they are minors, consent to the
use of their personal information as included in the outputs that they will
submit for purposes of publication if they be declared as winners, consistent
with the provision of the Data Privacy Act.
j. DepEd shall not be liable for any infringement of any intellectual property
rights arising from the use of the entries. In case there are third-party claims
of such infringement of any intellectual property rights, the contestants hold
DepEd free and harmless against such claims.
k. Entries will be judged based on the set criteria:

25% - Creativity
30% - Relevance to the Theme
20% - Color Harmony and Visual Impact
25% - Originality

ESSAY WRITING CONTEST


a. This contest is for Grades 7 - 10
b. The participant will make an essay related to National Children’s Month
theme “New Normal na Walang Iwanan: Karapatan ng Bawat Bata Ating
Tutukan!”.
c. Participants shall use A4 size bond paper/s.

d. The essay should have a title.


e. Entries should be in Filipino, encoded, double-spaced, with a minimum of
f. 1,500 words and maximum of 3,000 words.
g. Language to be used should be gender – sensitive, non-derogatory, and
inoffensive.
h. In doing the essay, the participant shall a take video from the beginning until

i. Finished outputs should not contain label or name that may identify the
district.
j. The essay must be original. If the submitted essay is found to have been
plagiarized, it will be disqualified from the competition

VIDEO ESSAY CONTEST


a. This contest is for Grades 11 – 12
b. The video essay contest is a short video competition.
c. The video essay should run for a minimum length of 5 minutes and maximum
length of 8 minutes.
d. The video essay should have a title.
e. The content of the video essay must be anchored on the theme “New Normal
na Walang Iwanan: Karapatan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan!”.
f. Videos should be encoded on commonly known video file
compressions/formats such as .mp4, .avi, and .mkv.
