Moon Incense

Moon oil

Moon gemstone (see correspondences)

Metal Charm (optional, see appendix)

One or more Moon herbs

Table of the Moon (below)

White Flannel Cloth

String

Timing: Day and hour of the Mercury

Preparation and Setup

A cleansing hyssop bath before the rite is highly recommended but at the very least
you will have bathed or showered and dressed in clean clothes. Make sure to ready all
materials on the table where this work is to be done before the planetary hour begins.
Gently wipe everything down with a clean white cloth or paper towel dampened with
Holy Water.

The Table of the Moon

Preparing the Planetary Mojo Bag

In the planetary hour print out the Table of the Moon and write your petition on the
back, making sure to include your full name. Cut a circular piece of flannel roughly
15cm in diameter. Place a heaped teaspoon full of herbal material in the centre of the
cloth. Dress the four corners of the petition with oil. Place the gemstone along with
the metal charm and a strand of your hair on the petition paper and fold these tightly
into a square packet. Put the packet with the herbs and gather the cloth up around
everything - pinching it altogether deftly so that the ‘neck’ of the bag is clasped in
your non-dominant hand. Take the string in your dominant hand and wind it around
the neck of the bag a few times before tying it off with 9 knots.

Triangular Seal of the Moon

Draw The Seal

Use the liquid chalk marker to draw the seal (as above) on the surface of the Tablet of
Lights.

Next, use a pin to inscribe “SHADDAI” on the first taper candle, dress it with oil and
set it in the topmost circle on top of the Holy Name by dripping some wax from an
altar candle. Take the second taper, inscribe the name “MALKAH BE-TARSHISHIM
VE-AD RUACOTH SHECHALIM” on it, dress it with oil and set it in the bottom
right-hand circle on the sigil. Take the third taper, inscribe the name “CHASMODAI”
on it, dress it with oil and set it in the bottom left-hand circle on the sigil.

Lastly, place the mojo bag in the centre of the triangle.

Preliminary Consecrations

Lightly sprinkle of few drops of holy water on the Tablet saying:

O ADONAI most powerful, EL most strong, AGLA most holy, ON most righteous, the
ALEPH and the TAU, the Beginning and the End; Thou Who hast established all
things in Thy Wisdom; Thou Who has chosen Abraham Thy faithful servant, and hast
promised that in his seed shall all nations of the earth be blessed, which seed Thou
hast multiplied as the Stars of Heaven; Thou Who hast appeared unto Thy servant
Moses in flame in the midst of the Burning Bush, and hast made him walk with dry
feet through the Red Sea; Thou Who gavest the Law to him upon Mount Sinai; Thou
Who hast granted unto Solomon Thy Servant these Pentacles by Thy great Mercy, for
the preservation of Soul and of Body; we most humbly implore and supplicate Thy
Holy Majesty, that these Pentacles may be consecrated by Thy power, and prepared
in such manner that they may obtain virtue and strength against all Spirits, through
Thee, O Most Holy ADONAI, Whose Kingdom, Empire, and principality, remaineth
and endureth without end.

Consecrate the Candles

Lightly sprinkle of few drops of holy water on candles say:

I exorcise thee. O Creature of wax, by Him Who alone hath created all things by His
Word, and by the virtue of Him Who is pure truth, that thou cast out from thee every
Phantasm, Perversion, and Deceit of the Enemy, and may the Virtue and Power of
God enter into thee, so that thou mayest give us light, and chase far from us all fear
or error.
Consecrate the Incense

O God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob, deign to bless this odoriferous
Incense so that it may receive strength, virtue, and power to attract the Good Spirits,
and to banish and cause to retire all hostile Phantoms. Through Thee, O Most Holy
Adonai, Who livest and reignest unto the Ages of the Ages. Amen.

Light the Charcoal

Use fire proof tongs carefully light the charcoal disc and place it in the censer, say:

I exorcise thee, O Creature of Fire, by Him through Whom all things have been made,
so that every kind of Phantasm may retire from thee, and be unable to harm or
deceive in any way, through the Invocation of the Most High Creator of all.

Bless, O Lord All-Powerful, and All-Merciful, this Creature of Fire, so that being
blessed by Thee, it may be for the honour and glory of Thy Most Holy Name, so that
it may work no hindrance or evil unto those who use it. Through Thee, O Eternal and
Almighty Lord, and through Thy Most Holy Name. Amen.

The Work
Ensuring everything has been readied and consecrated as described before you are
ready to perform the spell.

Silence

Take a a minute to quiet your mind before beginning the spell, sitting with your eyes
closed meditating. When you feel calm and readied begin by saying:

Opening Prayer:

O Lord God, Holy Father, Almighty and Merciful One, who hast created all things,
Who knowest all things and can do all things, from Whom nothing is hidden, to whom
nothing is impossible; Thou who knowest that we perform not these ceremonies to
tempt Thy power, but that we may penetrate into the knowledge of hidden things; we
pray Thee by Thy Sacred Mercy to cause and to permit, that we may arrive at this
understanding of secret things, of whatever nature they may be by Thine aid, O Most
Holy ADONAI, whose Kingdom and Power shall have no end unto the Ages of the
Ages. Amen.
Add a pinch of incense to the charcoal and say:

With this perfume I do honour the Holy Name SHADDAI, which signifieth doing good
unto all; which Moses invoked, and having struck the Sea, it divided into two parts in
the midst, on the right hand and on the left. I worship the the most holy Name of EL
CHAI, which is that of the Living God, through the virtue of which alliance with us,
and redemption for us have been made; which Moses invoked and all the waters
returned to their prior state and enveloped the Egyptians, so that not one of them
escaped to carry the news into the Land of Mizraim.

Light the topmost taper and say:

SHADDAI, with this flame I do humbly supplicate thee!

Light the bottom righthand taper and say:

MALKAH BE-TARSHISHIM VE-AD RUACOTH SHECHALIM, Intelligence of the

MOON - I offer thee this flame - be thou invoked in the name of your God SHADDAI!

Light the bottom lefthand taper and say:

CHASMODAI, Spirit of the MOON - I offer thee this flame - be thou invoked by the
authority of MALKAH BE-TARSHISHIM VE-AD RUACOTH SHECHALIM!

Add another pinch of incense to the charcoal and say:

I thank thee and praise God for thy power here oh strong and mighty spirits! God
Almighty, Creator of Angels and Men; in worship of Thy splendour do I give Thee
this perfume in the name and honour of these spirits.

Take the mojo and pass it through the smoke, say:

Ye Spirits of God hear me for I invoke ye in my spell so that through you it may find
virtue and accomplishment. In the Holy and Terrible name of SHADDAI I charge thee
to empower this bag that it may [state petition].

Lastly, softly blow on the bag nine times, anoint it with planetary oil and place it
back in the triangle.

Closing:

Leave the tapers to burn and when they have burned down return to the altar and say:
In the Name of ADONAI, the Eternal and Everlasting One, let each of you return unto
his place; be there peace between us and you, and be ye ready to come when ye are
called.

Appendix

In African American hoodoo it is common practice for rootdoctors to include a metal

charm (the sort you might see attached to a charm bracelet) in, or sewed onto, a mojo
bag. These metal charms are often selected based on the function of the bag. For
example, a Crown of Success bag might see a metal crown included in its making.
This might seem like a quant bit of ornamentation but the practice has magical roots
that extend all the way back to the Kongo and West Africa where it was (and is)
common practice for sorcerers to include metal tools in spirit pots and fetishes of
various kinds so that the spirits invoked would have the equipment at hand to perform
the task for which the sorcerer has called them. Similarly, in the grimoires planetary
spirits have particular tools or objects associated with their function that express their
magical virtue or power. It is therefor advisable to dovetail these two streams of
magic by including a suitable planetary charm in the bag so that the spirits of the
sphere might have to tools to do the work you have enlisted them for. These charms
are easily enough found online and come in an endless variety of forms. Look for a
charm in the shape of one of the tools of the planet (below).
