Religious Involvement 12

1. Name 2 persons whom you emulate in their genuine kind of self-giving. In two sentences, say
something how they exhibit/ed this kind of generosity.
First of all is my Mom. She inspires me every day in the way she lives her life. My mom the most joyful
person I know and she can light up a room with her smile and energy. She chooses positivity and shares
that with everyone around her. She's also our fiercest supporter and advocate and for that, I am eternally
grateful.
Second is my Dad. Growing up, my father taught me many valuable lessons, specifically: to be kind to
everyone and to never give up. These simple but important lessons have shaped my life in its entirety. My
dad is the kindest man that I have ever met. He never talks bad about others, always helps other people,
and always tries to do the right thing no matter what the cost to himself. He is kind, thoughtful, generous
and honest. I attribute much of who I am as a person to my dad and I thank him for his dedication to our
family.

2. Listen to the attached song entitled Prayer for Generosity penned by a Jesuit saint, Ignatius of Loyola.
Then answer this rumination guided and inspired by the song: What is MY own personal measure of
generosity? Elaborate in five sentences.
It’s a great prayer. It expresses wholehearted commitment, a desire to imitate Christ, a generous spirit,
and a readiness to work hard–all sentiments associated with Ignatian spirituality and the Spiritual
Exercises. They fit Ignatius perfectly. You feel like he could have written that prayer, just as St. Francis
could have written the prayer attributed to him Ignatius teaches that freedom from attachment to a
particular choice or outcome is essential. Ignatius also advises that individuals share their deliberations
with a confidant, advice that he followed when making his own decisions.

A. In one word, how would you encapsulate your contemplation you have written in #2? Write the word
using your preferred CALLIGRAPHY design. Make it creative.

Beneficence

B. Compose a prayer for a loved one who has passed on this life.

Amen ".
