About Fire Doors; fire doors are means of passive fire protection. They are used to stop fire
spreading into one place to another another place; fire door isolates the affected room and
prevents fire spreading. Often, fire doors are provided with emergency exit devices to make
fire doors as emergency exit doors. Fire doors can be of steel sheet composite door Or of

Technical Specifications For 2 Hour Fire Rated Doors

As per IS 3614 part II and BS 476 part 22 for Integrity and stability.

FIRE DOOR TYPES

1) Emergency exit: Fire doors are used for emergency exit purpose in factory/office/hotels/data
centers etc. fire door is provided with panic exit devices for use of door in
Emergency exit.
2) Fire safety purpose: Fire doors are provided with locks, it prevents spreading of fire but cannot
be used for emergency exit. Used for factory/godown/electric ducts etc.

DOOR DIAMENTIONS

When we talk door size, it is always WALL OPENING SIZE. Door and frame manufactured such that
overall size is 10/15 mm lesser than wall opening size for easy fitting.

Standard Door Sizes: 1) Single leaf door: Widths :700 / 800 / 1000/ 1200
Heights: 2100 / 2400 / 3000

2) Double leaf door: Widths: 1500 / 1800 / 2000 / 2400

Heights: 2100 / 2400 / 3000

DOOR SHUTTER

Outer Sheets: 1.20 mm thick (18 gauge) Mild steel OR Galvanized Steel Sheet .
Door thickness: 46mm
Insulation: first class quality Rockwool/Honey comb core.
Internal Stiffeners: Braced with 1.2 mm MS channels @ 300 mm cc for reinforcement.
Hardware receiving: 3/4 mm thick MS plates with hole and taping done welded inside to insure firm
fixing of door hardware like hinges, door closer, locks etc.
Door Finish: Powder coating / grey primer finish.

DOOR FRAMES

Types: 1) folding type: all three sections are separate and can be assembled at site by fixing of
Nut-bolts provided. Generally; Anchor bolts are provided for fixing in wall.
2) Knocked down: Complete frame is in assembled condition, ready to fixing in wall by
Hold fast; masonry work required. All three sections are join by welding and at
Bottom base tie of 2 no.s 25x25 mm M.S. angles are provided.
Made from: 1.6mm thick (16 gauge) Mild Steel Sheet / Galvanized steel sheets.
Profile of frame: A type 100x60 mm OR Type B 125x60 mm OR Type C 150x60 mm
By default type –A is provided. Type B & Type C are optional.
Hardware receiving: 3/4 mm thick MS plates with hole and taping done welded inside to insure firm
fixing of door hardware like hinges, door closer, locks etc.
Door Finish: Powder coating / grey primer finish.

DOOR ACCESORIES:

a) Emergency Exit Doors: emergency exit doors comes with following standard accessories:

1) Hinges: Doors are provided with Stainless Steel 304 double ball bearing hinges Fire rated and
“CE” marked. Size 103x76x3mm. Philip cross head s.s. screw 6 mm diameter are provided to
assemble door leaf and door frames.
2) Panic Bar: Doors are provided with Panic exit Device from inside of doors. In case of fire just by
pushing the bar, door can be opened. No keys required. Good brand single point panic device.
3) Trim Bar: Doors are provided with trim bar. It is required when door is to be accessed from out
side. Trim bar is just like lock with lever handle and cylinder which co-operates with panic device.
Trim bar is supplement to panic bar and Optional in some cases.
4) Door Closer: Doors are provided with fire resistant hydraulic door closer. Having capacity 60-80
kg weight of door leaf fire resistant.
5) Door Stopper: Doors are provided with S.S. Door stopper with two point rubber balls at bottom.

b) Fire Safety Doors: comes with following standard accessories:

1) Hinges: Doors are provided with Stainless Steel 304 double ball bearing hinges Fire rated and
“CE” marked. Size 103x76x3mm. Philip cross head s.s. screw 6 mm diameter are provided to
assemble door leaf and door frames.
2) Mortice Dead Lock: Doors are provided with Mortice dead lock with 70 mm cylinder for locking of
door. Cylinder may have thumb turn operation from inside of door.
Lever handle in mortice lock is optional.
3) Door Handle: Doors are provided with S.S. H type handles made from S.S.304, 200mm long and
19 mm O.D. Handles are back to back glass door handles.
4) Door Closer: Doors are provided with fire resistant hydraulic door closer. Having capacity 80-90
kg weight of door leaf.
5) Door Stopper: Doors are provided with S.S. Door stopper with two point rubber balls at bottom.

C) Optional Add On: following Accessories may be added to both kinds of fire doors.

1) Glass View Panel: Doors are provided with fire resistant Glass view panel of size 300x300. 6.7
mm thick fire resistant clear wired glass made by Pilkington, U.K. (Pyroshield Brand). Glass is
fixed into door leaf with help of metallic frame on both faces of door. Gasket is used to grip the
glass.
2) Smoke seal: Silicon rubber gasket type seals can be provided as a smoke seal gasket. O profile
type available. It stops smokes to spread in other areas.
3) Drop bottom seal: Automatic drop bottom seals may be provided to close gape at floor. It works
automatically with opening and closing of door.
4) Push/kick Plates: S.S. Push plates OR S.S. Kick plates may be provided in kitchen doors.
5) Tower Bolt: External type of tower bot 12” long.
6) Flush bolt: All double doors must be provided with Flush type tower bolt.
