Q1. What is the CSR/sustainability philosophy of the company?

Ans.: The primary focus of the Siemens group is to improve the lives of people all over the world
through their technologies. They view it as a responsible corporate citizen to solve problems and
overcome challenges through their innovations and actions and thereby contribute to a live able
sustainable future.
The siemens group refer Corporate Social Responsibility as Corporate Citizenship as their
commitment to improve quality of life and create lasting value for the society. Siemens in India has
defined 3 strategic focus areas for its CSR: Education, Social and Environment.
1. Education:
The guiding principles is to foster science and technical education and believe in quality
education from school to university for all. They promote equal access to quality education by
promoting research and innovation, improve employability and industry readiness and promoting
curiosity and project-based learning,
2. Social:
i. Enhance living conditions:
They work towards designing and deploying scalable, replicable and sustainable
models using our core competencies that deliver social impact. They seek to support
the development and strengthening of social structures to bring about systematic and
lasting improvement
ii. Provide disaster relief:
They operate in three areas: emergency aid on safe drinking water, healthcare and
temporary shelter following a disaster with rehabilitation and community-based
preparedness.
3. Environment:
They believe that their responsibility towards environment is extremely crucial as it helps
reserve the planet for tomorrow’s generations and promotes a sustainable future. They also
work towards helping communities to use natural resources efficiently and mitigate the

Q2. The stakeholders of the company and how has the company engaged with its stakeholders?

Ans.: Every organization has its internal and external stakeholders. Siemens has mapped the internal
and external stakeholders in a structured way and carries out engagements with their external
stakeholders like investors, employees, customers, suppliers, business partners, civil society
organizations, etc., through defined activities such as customer events, channel partner meets,
training, analyst meets, AGM and press releases. Siemens identifies internal stakeholders as
permanent employees. Siemens conducts engagement surveys and periodic worker settlement reviews
on a regular basis. The company commits to Government initiatives like 100Smartcities, Make in
India, Skill Development and Power for All[CITATION Bus20 \l 1033 ].
