need for planned job layout and detailing at the
site. And job layout can be defined as a site
drawung of the proposed construction showing
the location of entry and exit, temporary services,
material stores and stocks, plant or equipment
and site offices.

 To complete the work with minimum use of equipment and machinery.
 To lake maximum output from labor and machinery.
 To provide saftey to the worker.
 To avoid damage due to construction activities to the nearby properties.
 To common use material as fine and coarse aggregate should be stored
near each other.
 To stored construction material as near place.

3)LAYOUT OF THE SITE AREA

IX
1) Safety:
 Fire prevention Fire is a major causes of the damage on
construction sites. So that fire extingunishes are basic
requirement in aconstruction project.
2) Site accessibility:
 Easy accessibility will keep the morals of the equipment
and vehicle drivers higt, minimize the chance of the
accident and save the time in th emaneuvering o the
arrive at an dleavers the project.
 In case of the large projects, proper planning is required
to layout the roads leading from the nearest highway.
Internak road are necessary for easy flow of work.
 Also parking lots are provided for the owner, office, and
crafts personnel but this facility must be planned where
space does exist.

3) Information sign:

 Site map: It should locate details of the project, and displayed in the
office of the site superintendent or project manager and posted at the
entrance gate.
 Traffice regulatory sign: For large projects, traffic regulatory signs help in
guiding the traffic on the site and avoid accidents to a considerable
extent.
 Display of the labours policy and safety rules: This will help in eliminating
disputes between labor and management.
 Emergency routers and underground services: It is important to display
the emergency escape routes on every floor as the building progresses.
Locations of underground services should be marked to prevent its
damage.
X
4)Security:
 Enterance it is necessary to have guard entrance to the site provided
by a booth. Also it is necessary to keep track of all visitiors to the
project.
 Lighting it is necessary to have standby generator to maintainsite
lighting.
 Fencing the boundary should be fenced off from a security point of
view.

5)Accommodation:

area. Also provide office equipment. The office at the site may
include job office, general contractor office, sub-contractor and
consultant offices.

7)Water supply and sanitation:

 It is necessary to have water and toilets facilities in convient
location to accommodate the work force.

8) Material handeling:
 One third or more of all construction operations can be classified
as material handeling. The use of the proper equipment for the
material handeling and advanceplanning for minizing handling will
results in direct cost and time savings.

9) storage and site cleaning:

XI
 Laydown areas Areas reservd for Storage of the large material and
equipment and it can be short term or long term.
 Warehouse: They are shelted storage facilites where materials are
stored until they have disbursed to the job.
 Materials staging area: They used when materials are stored near the
work on a short term basis. They are generally as close to work as
possible.
 Site cleaning: It is necessary at a work place and espicially where the
extent of debries produced is high. Regular disposal of debries is
necessary.

10) craft change houses:

 Craft change houses provided sheltered space for the craft
personnel to change and stored cloths, wash, and rest during

equipment are fabricated on site. The includes electrical,
mechanical, carpentry, and paint shope. Also testing shopes used
to houses the necessary testing equipment and personnel for the
project.

12) Labour colony at the site:

 Quality accommodation of the workers is crucial to the succes os
construction projects many of which are in remote location. States
provides excellent labour colony solution accorfing to specifies

nearist and at the centre of the site, so the labours
are commonly used the material and easy to work,
that can save the time of constructio.
 For the material we provide the steel yard, cement
storage, aggregate storage and also when some
emergency the storage full then we also unload the
material to the emergency storage.

 Steel position:
 Steel is very important in the construction
work so, we stored the steel at maximum
numbers and we stored in the steel yard.
 For the cutting of bar. we provide the steel
working unit from the 10mt from the steel
yard.

XIII
 Steel storage is at the centre of the
construction site so that labours are easily
used.
 Labor colony:
 Labor colony for onsite labors, staff, site office
as per given site location.
 The size is decided so that after the
construction is over we can dismantle.
