BUSINESS ENGLISH SCRIPT

SERVICE IN THE RESTAURANT

Waiter            : Good evening Miss, welcome to Kasumi Restaurant.


Guest              : Good evening.
Waiter            : How may I help you, Miss?
Guest              : I want to have my dinner. Can I have a table for one please?
Waiter            : Yes Miss. Please come this way.
Guest              : Alright, thank you.
Waiter            : Please be seated Miss. Here is the menu. I will return in a moment to take
your order.
Guest              : Oh, okay.

*After 15 minutes.

Waiter            : Excuse me, are you ready to order Miss?


Guest              : Yes, sure.
Waiter            : What would you like to have Miss?
Guest              : I would like to have spring rolls and chicken steak with mushroom sauce.
Waiter            : Yes, Miss. And what would you like for the drink?
Guest              : Hmm. I would like to have a glass of strawbery juice please.
Waiter            : Surely Miss. Please wait a moment.
Guest              : Okay.

*This dialog happened after the guest has ordered the food.

Waiter : These are your orders Miss, spring rolls and a chicken steak with
mushroom sauce also a glass of strawberry juice.
Guest : Excuse me, waiter.
Waiter : Yes, Miss. What can I do for you?
Guest : I am sorry but this is not like what I have ordered. Would you mind telling
me who’s the chef?
Waiter : I am so sorry Miss. Is there any problem with your order?
Guest : Yeah. I think there is something wrong about the food. Do you still
remember what I’ve ordered?
Waiter : Okay Miss, let me repeat your order. You ordered spring rolls, a
chicken
steak with mushroom sauce and a glass of strawberry juice.
Guest : Yes, but as you can see, I ordered a chicken steak with mushroom sauce but
this is a black pepper sauce and also the chicken is not well-cooked.
Waiter : I really apologize for this inconvenience Miss. Allow me to get you the new
one.
Guest : That’s alright. This restaurant has been running for so long, I just don’t
expect that such things happen here.
Waiter : I’m sorry Miss. I apologize on behalf of my chef.
Guest : Okay, no problem. Just make sure that such things will not happen again.
Waiter : Alright Miss. Thank you for your kindness.
Guest : I would appreciate if you can replace it with the new one.
Waiter : Absolutely Miss, please wait a moment.
Guest : Ok, thanks.
Waiter : You are welcome Miss.

*After 20 minutes.

Waiter            : Here are your foods Miss. Enjoy your dinner.


Guest              : Sure, thank you.

*After the guest has finished to eat.

Guest              : Excuse me, waiter.


Waiter            : Yes Miss.
Guest              : May I have the bill?
Waiter            : Of course, here is your bill Miss.
Guest              : Okay, thank you.
Waiter            : You are welcome Miss and thank you for visiting our restaurant.
