75) “It comes to me sometimes as the ringing of a bell and this is hardest on me, then he (angel)

leaves me and I remember from him what he says; and sometimes the angel comes in the shape

of a man and he talks to me and I remember what he says.” (Bukhari)

76) Hazrat AishaRA says, “I saw a revelation coming down upon him in the severest cold and when

that condition was over, perspiration ran down his forehead.” (Bukhari)

77) “Write this verse in the chapter where such and such verses occur.” (Ahmed)

78) Hazrat QutaibahRA narrated, “ I asked Anas bin Malik; ‘Who collected the Quran at the time of

the Holy ProphetPBUH ?’ He replied, ‘Four, all of whom were from the Ansar: Ubay bin Ka’ab,

Muaz bin Jabal, Zaid bin Sabit and Abu Zaid.’” (Bukhari)

79) Hazrat UsmanRA asked Hazrat Hafsa RA, “Send us the manuscripts of the Quran so that we may

compile the Quranic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you.” (Bukhari)

80) “Blessed is He Who sent down the Criterion to His servant, that it may be an admonition to all

that of two females: if only daughters two or more their share is two-thirds of the inheritance; if

only one her share is half.” (4:11)

111) “And, (O man) do not follow that of which you have no (authentic) knowledge.” (17:36)

112) The Holy ProphetPBUH asked Muaz bin Jabal when he was deputed to Yemen as a governor,

“How will you decide when a matter comes to you for decision?” He replied, “I shall decide

according to the Book of Allah.” The ProphetPBUH said, “If you do not find it in the Book of Allah?”

Muaz said, “ Then according to the Sunnah of the ProphetPBUH.” He asked, “If you find nothing

therein?” Muaz replied, “ Then I will exert myself to form my own judgment.” (Tirmizi, Abu

Daud)

Conditions of Arabia before Islam
113) “Has then your Lord (O Pagans!) preferred for you sons and taken for Himself daughters

among the angels? Truly you utter a most dreadful saying!” (15:40)

114) “The Jews call Uzair a son of Allah and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah.” (9:30)

115) “When the female (infant) buried alive is questioned. For what crime she was killed.” (81:89)

Life in Makkah
Life Before Prophethood
116) “Verily I am the most perfect Arab amongst you; my descent is from Quraish and my tongue

is the tongue of Banu Sa’ad.” (Ibn Hisham)

117) “Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter (and care).” (93:6)

118) Bahira said, “This is the chief of the universe; this is the messenger of the universe.” Some

people of the Quraish asked him how he knew this and he replied, “When you came over the hill

not a tree or a stone failed to prostate itself in reverence, and they prostate themselves only

before a prophet.” (Tirmizi)

119) “I witnessed in the house of Abdullah bin Judan a covenant which I would not exchange for

any number of fine camels; and if I were asked to take part in it during Islam I should do so.”

(Ibn Hisham)

Call to Prophethood
120) “Proclaim (or read) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created: Created man out of

a (mere) clot of congealed blood. Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful, He Who taught (the

use of) the pen. Taught man what he knew not.” (96:1-5)

121) “O Muhammad you are the messenger of Allah and I am Jibrael.”

122) “O Muhammad you are indeed a messenger Allah.” (Bukhari reports of what Hazrat Jibrael RA

said)

123) “Allah will never disgrace you as you keep good relations with your kith and kin, speak the

truth, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guest generously and assist the deserving,

calamity afflicted one.” (Bukhari reports of what Hazrat Khadija said)

124) Warqa bin Naufal said, “By Him in Whose Hand my soul rests, you are the prophet of this

nation, and the one who visited you is none other than the chief of the angels who visited

Moses. Verily, your people shall call you a liar, abuse you, expel you, and wage war against you.”

125) “O thou wrapped up (in a mantle)! Arise and deliver thy warning! And thy Lord do thou

magnify.” (74:1-3)

126) “And admonish thy nearest kinsmen.” (26:214)

134) “Glory to Him who carried His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the distant

Mosque, the precincts of which we have blessed in order that we might show him some of our

135) “………. He then took out my heart. Then a gold tray of Belief was brought to me and my

heart was washed and was filled (with Belief) and then returned to its original place.” (Bukhari)

136) “I have asked my Lord till I am ashamed to face Him.” (Bukhari)

137) “He was given five prayers, he was given the concluding verses of Surah tul Baqarah, and

remission of serious sins for those among his ummah who associate not anything with Allah.”

138) In Abyssinia Najashi said, “By God this and the Gospel are the lights of one candle.”

Pledges of Aqabah

139) “Come along and give me the pledge of allegiance that you will worship nothing besides

Allah, will not steal, will not commit illegal sexual intercourse, will not kill your children, will not

utter slander invented by yourself, and will not disobey me if I order you to do something good.

Whoever among you will respect and fulfill this pledge, will be rewarded by Allah,” (Bukhari)

140) “Why should I pray for the destruction of these people? I hope that their posterity will

certainly be among the believers in One Allah.” (Muslim)

Migration to Madinah
141) “And We have put a barrier before them and a barrier behind them and We have covered

them up so that they cannot see.” (Quran)

142) “Remember how the unbelievers plotted against thee, to keep thee in bonds, or slay thee,

or get thee out (of thy home). They plot and plan, and Allah too plans, but the best of planners is

Allah.” (8:30)

143) “O Abu Bakr, how can you fear for two men whose constant companion is Allah Himself?”

144) “For Allah did indeed help him when the unbelievers drove him out, he had no more than

one companion. They were two in the cave and he said to his companion, have no fear for Allah

Life in Madinah
146) “ --- There is a mosque whose foundation was laid from the first day on piety; it is more

worthy of thy standing forth (for prayer) therein. In it are men who love to be purified and Allah

love those who make themselves pure.” (9:108)

147) “………. And remember with gratitude Allah’s favor on you, for you were enemies and He

joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace you became brothers ……….” (3:103)

148) “Those who believed and adopted exile, and fought for the faith, with their property and

persons, in the cause of Allah, as well as those who gave (them) asylum and aid, these are (all)

friends and protectors, one of another.” (8:72)

149) “We see the turning of your face (for guidance) to the heavens; now shall We turn you to a

Qiblah that shall please you. Turn then your faces in the direction of the Sacred Mosque;

wherever you are turn your faces in that direction.” (2:144)

150) “Permission is given, against those whom war is made (to fight) because they were wronged

……….” (22:39)

151) “When it is said to them, ‘Come to what Allah has revealed, and to the messenger,’ thou

seest the hypocrites avert their faces from thee in disgust.” (4:61)

152) “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you.” (2:190)

Battle of Badr
153) “O Allah! If this small band of men perish, there will be no one alive to worship You and Your

faith will be destroyed forever.” (Bukhari)

159) “Allah did indeed fulfill His promise to you when you with His permission, were about to

annihilate your enemy, until you flinched and fell to disputing about the order and you

disobeyed, after He had shown you that for which you had longed, some of you desired the

world, and some of you desired the Hereafter.” (3:152)

160) “………. Abu Sufyan said, ‘ This is a day of (revenge) for the day of Badr and the issue of war is

undecided.” (Bukhari)

161) “Those of you who turned back on the day the two hosts met, --- it was Satan who caused

them to fail, ---.” (3:152)

162) “What you suffered on the day the two armies met, was the leave of Allah, in order that He

might test the Believers.” (3:166)

Battle of Trench
163) “When they came against you from above you, and from below you, and your eyes swerved

and your hearts reached your throats, and you thought thoughts about Allah; there it was that

the believers were tried and shaken most mightily.” (33:10-11)

164) “War is deceit.” (Bukhari)

165) “O you who believe! Remember Allah’s blessing on you when hosts came against you, and

We loosened against them a wind ……….” (33:9)

166) “And, Allah sent back those that were unbelievers in their rage and they attained no good.
