System Release 20.2/20.2.1/20.2.2/20.2.2.1 Information
Introduction
This document provides information for 450 Platform series System Release 20.2/20.2.1/20.2.2/20.2.2.1.

Software updates for Cambium products are available from: https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files

System Release 20.2 adds support for the following new feature:

l CBRS Multigrant Feature and PAL rollout support

System Release 20.2.1 is a maintenance release on System Release 20.2 with primarily bug fixes.

System Release 20.2.2 is a maintenance release on System Release 20.2.1 with primarily bug fixes.

System Release 20.2.2.1 is a maintenance release on System Release 20.2.2 with primarily bug fixes.

Attention

l Upgrade SMs first to System release 20.0 or later and then upgrade the AP, otherwise
SMs will connect but at a maximum modulation rate of 2X MIMO-B, until both sides are
running System Release 20.2 or later.
l System Release 20.0 introduces support for TLS v1.2 and v1.3. TLS v1.1 is no longer
supported. CNUT 4.13.3 supports TLS v1.1 only and cannot upgrade PMP/PTP devices
running System release 20.0 or later that are configured for HTTPS only web access.

5
Feature overview
The following new feature is introduced in System Release 20.2:

Product Affected Features Description

3 GHz Multigrant and PAL support System Release 20.2 replaces single wideband
450/450i/450m/450b for CBRS grants with smaller multiple grants for CBRS
operators. Operators are strongly encouraged
to upgrade to this release and convert their
existing wideband grants to multigrant ahead
of the upcoming PAL rollout by the SAS
operators. See the “CBRS Consolidated
Procedures Guide” and training videos for
details about this feature.

6
Feature description
CBRS Multigrant support and PAL rollout support
l In System Release 20.1 and prior, the device asks for a single grant regardless of the channel
Bandwidth the device is configured for.
o If a single 10 MHz channel needs to be terminated (for example, a PAL is now protected on

that channel), or suspended (for example, a DPA activated on that channel), currently the
entire wider channel is affected.
l With System Release 20.2, the device has a configuration option to ask for multiple 10 MHz grants
l The below figure dispays this configuration option on the AP. Impacts to other UI images are shown
in the Configuration Guide and the CBRS Consolidated Procedures Guide. Details on how to use the
feature are detailed in the CBRS Consolidated Procedures Guide.

l Two other configuration options are also introduced, and their purposes are explained in
Configuration Guide and the CBRS Consolidated Procedures Guide.
l A 1.6.2 version of the Consolidated Procedures Guide is available.
l Operators need 3.0.2 cnMaestro for full compatibility with the CBRS Management Tool, such as live
CBRS grant status updates to cnMaestro, and the request of new grants as multigrants from the
tool. However, conversions to multigrants for existing widegrants can be done with System Release
20.2 on devices still onboarded to 3.0.0/3.0.1 cnMaestro software versions.

The training videos, parts 1 and 2, are available here:

MicroPoP CPY-17375 MicroPoP Connectorized AP On-board GPS Sync was not working in
AP System Release 20.2.1.

All SMs CPY-17381 Event Log filled with "Tsl Free list empty. Entries 0".

20.2.1
Problems and limitations, that are corrected in System Release 20.2.1 are listed below:

Table 4 : Problems and Limitations corrected in System Release 20.2.1

Products Tracking Description

Affected

All APs CPY-17284 When clicking "Clear Idle Sessions" permanent bridge table entries were
not getting cleared on the AP and SMs would attempt to register would fail
continuously until the AP was rebooted. This has been resolved in System
Release 20.2.1.

450i AP CPY-17335 AP CBRS FatalError Data Abort exception in STAT task.

3 GHz CPY-17326 Attempts to manually edit the channel bandwidth on a CBRS enabled 3
450m GHz 450m failed – revert to prior higher bandwidth, if changed without a
center frequency change.

450m CPY-17322 Session Status Sorting broken on the 450m. The AP RX Power Column of
the Power Table was failing to sort properly.

CBRS CPY-17319 For CBRS operators using Google SAS, when an SM was reparented from
one AP to another, the target AP does not update the SAS with new
CoExistance parameters.

APs CPY-17318 AP can reset if it does not have ethernet link and SM registers and runs
engineering.cgi or loads SNMP webpage.

450AP CPY-17311 Increased the prioritization of CBRS messaging for 450 AP.

450b and CPY-17308 Rolling Reboot when AP with DSCP Prioritization enabled was changed to
450i SM role.

450 APs CPY-17307 450 radios with a calibration out of normal range, display an error and use
and SMs an average calibration instead.

CBRS CPY-17299 AP gets stuck in CBRS Granted state and stops sending heartbeat request
from radio.

CBRS CPY-17297 CoEx Reuse ID not being included in next CBRS Heartbeat Request after
changing it on already registered/granted sectors.

All CPY-17295 HTTP proxy hyperlink to SMs was incorrect when using non-standard HTTP
port.

All CPY-17294 Added IMM rates description to OIDs AdaptRateLowPri and

AdaptRateHighPri.

CBRS CPY-17290 Improvements to Cambium CBRS “Alternate Channel Selection” algorithm,

also called “Channel Hunting.” If a channel hunt is triggered, if the SAS
indicates that the center frequency we just vacated is available, the AP will
use this frequency first.

CBRS CPY-17283 Maximum EIRP for 15 MHz or 30 MHz is 1 dB too low in System Release 20.2

14
Products Tracking Description
Affected

or early 20.2.1 BETA releases.

All CPY-17277 With Intermediate Modulation Modes, modulations were being adjusted too
slowly in rapidly changing RF conditions, occasionally causing dropped
sessions.

PMP CPY-17272 The Beacon percentage displayed in the AP’s Tools -> Link Status page
should include the Map percentage too.

All CPY-17269 FatalError Reset due to ctic task.

CBRS CPY-17267 Some SMs fails to connect after upgrading to System Release 20.2.

CBRS CPY-17257 In previous Software Releases, the "CBRS Staus List" table in the Home ->
Session Status Page on the AP would show a "TMP" indication if a granted
EIRP was a temporary "Same Day Grant" value. This is missing in System
Release 20.2. There is a plan to re-introduce this in a future release.

Note that this System Release 20.2.1 fix re-introduced this TMP indication,
but there are still some open issues to be fixed in a future release:

l The TMP indication is currently only seen with FW SDG. It is not seen
with Commscope SDG.
l With FW, the TMP indication is not clearing if the SAS lowers the
EIRP at CPAS Time instead of increasing it.

3 GHz CPY-17253 There is an error message that appears roughly every 2 minutes in the
450m event log of a 3 GHz 450m holding a CBRS grant that says "Configured
beyond max EIRP, lowering transmit power from xx dBm to xx dBm" This is
harmless - there is no actual transmit power issue or lowering taking place,
the only negative is that it fills up the event log over time.

CBRS CPY-17245 Reset due MPU Data Violation in CBRS task.

CBRS CPY-17224 Improvements to handling of a “400 Interference” CBRS Grant failure from
the SAS.

All CPY-17201 Reset due to MPU Violation in Device Agent task.

All CPY-17188 More explicit informational messaging has been added on the sync status
page that indicates when sync over power is disabled due to Remote
Device Configuration. Also, the option to change from Remote to Standard
is always visible now if it is enabled, giving the user a chance to disable it.
Once disabled, the setting disappears if the Sync Aux Port Config is set to
Output

CBRS CPY-17186 Minor correction to CBRS heartbeat missed stats on Home -> Session
Status page of AP.

CBRS CPY-17146 AP sends unnecessary CBRS grant relinquish in certain cnMaestro to Radio
sync operations.

450m CPY-17140 SU-MIMO Beamsteering fixed for multiple Data Channels in the same frame
with low traffic.

15
Problems and Limitations corrected in System Release
20.2
Problems and limitations, that are corrected in System Release 20.2 are listed below:

Table 5 : Problems and Limitations corrected in System Release 20.2

Products Tracking Description

Affected

All 3 GHz CPY-17201 TX Power or EIRP for 450m was not increased as bandwidth was
APs automatically increased when multigrant was in operation.

CBRS APs CPY-17254 AP sometimes experienced stack lockup after the configuration file was
loaded. Traffic still passed, but pings, telnets, https, etc did not respond.

16
Known Problems or Limitations in System Release 20.2.2.1
Known issues in System Release 20.2.2.1 are listed in the following table:

Table 6 :System Release 20.2.2.1 known problems and limitations

Products Tracking Workaround/Description

Affected

All 3 GHz CPY-17231 Follow-me is not updating the SMs in all possible cases when using
AP/BHM multigrant.

Workaround: Operators are requested to check and make necessary

bandwidth if needed and center frequency additions to their SM scan
lists. See the CBRS Consolidated Procedures Guide for more details.

Network Management
Wireless Manager v4.5.6 may be used to manage Cambium PMP networks, including managing the RADIUS
features. For additional information, see the Wireless Manager website at:

http://www.cambiumnetworks.com/products/management-tools/wireless-manager

A RADIUS dictionary file is available from the software site:

cnMaestro
Operators needs 3.0.2 cnMaestro for full compatibility with the CBRS Management Tool, such as live CBRS
grant status updates to cnMaestro, and the request of new grants as multigrants from the tool. However,
conversions to multigrants for existing widegrants can be done with System Release 20.2 on devices still
onboarded to 3.0.0/3.0.1 cnMaestro software versions.

cnMaestro may also be used to manage Cambium devices. Additionally, cnMaestro is required if using the
CBRS feature. See the cnMaestro release notes for more information. For additional information, see the
cnMaestro website at:

http://www.cambiumnetworks.com/products/software-tools/cnmaestro

Canopy MIB
The Cambium Enterprise MIB (Management Information Base) consists of 7 MIB definition files and
supports SNMP access to Canopy modules. The MIB files are available for download from:

https://support.cambiumnetworks.com/files/pmp450/

MIB files are used by Network Management Systems and Element Management Systems, such as the
Wireless Manager system to support a host of surveillance, monitoring, control, and operational tasks.

If you are using an SNMP network management system (NMS) or element management system (EMS)
other than Wireless Manager: Load the MIBs per the instructions for your NMS or EMS.

Note

When loading the MIB files:

1. First, load the standard MIB files

2. Then, load the radio specific MIB files

Some NMSs are not sensitive to order, but some require a specific loading order to build a MIB tree.
Loading in the recommended order avoids these issues.
