1st Day Observation

In our Field Study 1, we were deployed to ISCdD where we could observe the teacher
how he/she would teach his/her students and how the students they would participate in class,
their discipline, or participating and cooperating in their Online class. On October 5, 2021 when
we started observing the class with our Resource Teacher Ms. Joysan Estayo. Before we observe
her class, we first introduced ourselves to Teacher Joysan and she also introduced us to her
students, she also explained why we were in their class so that her student fully understood that
we observed in their class.

In the
first class of our observation, the class time schedule of the Grade 7 students started at 11:10 AM
to 11:40 AM on Tuesday and the lesson is all about Folk Arts & Crafts of Cagayan Valley and
Central Luzon. Based on my observation, Teacher Joysan presents her PowerPoint presentation
so that students can see the pictures regarding what they are studying and so that his students can
better understand their lesson, she applies the topic to everyday situations, and the students fully
participate. While some students use fun in their discussions, others are unknowingly turned on
their audio so there are distractions, but Teacher Joysan maintains control over her students.
When it's time to talk, she makes sure everyone is paying attention. She also assesses her
students by assigning tasks following a class discussion.
 The second subject of our observation was at the Grade 5 level at the time of 1:10 PM to
1:40 PM and their lesson was about Web Browser and Search Engine in their Computer subject.
Teacher Joysan also used a PowerPoint Presentation to present their lesson about Web Browser
or Browser. I felt very at ease with their class and greatly appreciate the enthusiasm of Teacher
Joysan and her students. In this observation, however, I observed that all students were listening
and they were participating and answering every question their teacher had.

The next subject of my observation was Social Studies where the Grade 6 students we observed
in class. Based on my observation, some of them don't participate much, and others don't join
their online discussion so very few attend Teacher Joysan's class. She did not present her
PowerPoint Presentation but they used their book for their Social Studies lesson. After the
discussion, teacher Joysan gave their assignment and activities regarding to their lesson.
I had a very positive experience observing the ISCdD class where I observed the Grade 4
students, and as I admire the students for their active participation. Their lesson is about the
Characteristics of a Good Entrepreneur in their EPP subject, teacher Joysan in her Grade 4
students opened their books to study the characteristics of an entrepreneur while also presenting
on their screen the Powerpoint Presentation also related to their lesson. What she teaches is
engaging and I am very impressed because it is so much fun to teach when your students enjoy
learning your lesson. Teacher Joysan asked what business they want to grow and all the students
answered one by one and they said what business they want to build.
