JAPAN TSUNAMI 2011
Welcome everyone to the people that are listening to me. I am Anshul Kanda and today we are going to explain to you about the tsunami that happened yesterday in 11 of March in 2011. That never happened in Japan until yesterday! The Tsunami in Japan that happened was due to an earthquake that occurred hours before and alerted the tide and precisely for that reason the Tsunami was caused. The tsunami caused 360 billion dollars of damage, That is insane! Now Lasha will tell you in which areas the Tsunami occurred. Lasha, can you tell us please?
Thank you Anshul. So the Tsunami damaged some parts of countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Russia, Guam, The Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Hawaii, the Northern Mariana Islands, the United States, Taiwan, Central America, Mexico, Alaska, Canada, as well as South America, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Chile. The wave reached 10 meters in height and was one of the largest Tsunamis in the world.
Thank you Lasha for the information, now we are going to the reporter Jordi Ballesteros that is in Japan to give us information of what is happening right now.aaa<<
Thank you Anshul, that's right I am in Japan right now and this is really chaotic because there are a lot of dead people and a lot of persons are injured because of the tsunami. People in the hospitals are dying every second.
The earthquake triggered tsunami warnings throughout the Pacific basin. The tsunami raced outward from the epicentre at speeds that approached about 500 miles (800 km) per hour. It generated waves 11 to 12 feet (3.3 to 3.6 metres) high along the coasts of Kauai and Hawaii in the Hawaiian Islands chain and 5-foot (1.5-metre) waves along the island of Shemya in the Aleutian Islands chain. Within two weeks of the disaster, the Japanese government’s official count of deaths had exceeded 10,000; more than one and a half times that number were still listed as missing and presumed dead.
Thank you Aniol Gorgal for the information of the tsunami.
