INTRODUCTION
Transport Corporation of India LTD. Was found in 1958 by
“Mr. Prabhu Dayal Agarwal” in Kolkata, India to fairly
humble beginnings (One man, one truck and a single
office) now works through a network of 1400+ offices in
india and 6000+ employees. TCI Express, formerly TCI
XPS, was established in 1996 and is the cargo express
division of the TCI group which is headquartered in
Gurugram, Haryana.  TCI Express boasts 550 branches
with a strength of 2,800 employees operating through 3000
cargo pick up spots reaching 40,000+ delivery locations in
India and 202 locations across the world. TCI Express
offers Freight, Supply Chain Management Services and
other value added services like packaging, bundling,
labelling and quality checks.
TCI Express commands 4500 trucks for its purposes. These
are high tech operations with ERP enabled systems,
barcoded packages, GPS enabled vehicles and all India
CCTV surveillance. Logistically they have moved from
conventional distribution to express distribution. 60% of its
revenue comes from Large Corporate Clients while 40%
comes from MSME and Unorganized Players.
