IRISH CIVIL WAR

The Irish Civil War was an armed conflict that pitted supporters and opponents of
the Anglo-Irish Treaty.
WHAT IS THE ANGLO IRISH TREATY?

It was a treaty between the British Governament


and the represantives of the Irish Republic and
with this treaty ended the War of Indipence. The
treaty was signed in London on 6 december 1921.

THE BEGINNING OF THE WAR

On 13 of april the opponents of the treaty occupied


the Four Courts palace in Dublin and they were
leading by Rory O’Connor; their intections was
fighting against the british soldiers.

Micheal Collins, a friend of a lot of the opponents,
tried to avoid the begin a war with them but it was
completely useless beacuse they remained in the
palace and after that Collins ordered to bomb the
palace.

It wasn’t the first time beacuse there had been
another little fight in that period. Nevertheless the
palace was attached by some bombs and a lot of
documents of the Irish history and religious were
lost

THE BRUTAL END

In the end of the war there was the cruelest facts of


the entire war.
A lot of opponents begun to murdered some
Parlament membre and after this event they were
sendected to death.

THE IRISH CONSEQUENCES

The Ireland ended badly the war beacuse it lost a


lot of autorithy, beacuse cost to it a lot of lifes and
above all because, with the end of the war, it was
diveded in two parts and this represnts the
comprimise to end the war. Infact also nowadays,
after another little fights, we have Northern
Ireland and Eire that made up Ireland.
