Comprendiendo la Trigonometria
Triangulo Basico

First.

Comenzando un Kick Off

arranque o Kick off estaba a 920.50 metros.
Debido a

conseguiremos:
Grados de
Metros de slide entre la Rendimiento del
inclinacion entre la

la mecha.
Or

Paso # 4: Determinando cuanto deslizar

This sheet is possibly the most important form that must be filled
out correctly. All other work and activity performed by the MWD Operator
means naught if the well must be plugged back with cement because of
an incorrect OTF calculation (or the correct OTF not being entered into the

As many of you are aware, we had several OTF measurement errors this past winter which greatly affected our bottom line.
Every time we face such problems we try to improve our procedures for measuring the OTF and try to implement stringent
measures, yet we still continue to have such major incidents. One of the new measures that we had implemented recently
is to have all MWD Field Supervisors phone in the Coordinator on call and report the numbers measured and entered in the
computer. This is in addition to the fact that you have to fax/e-mail the completed OTF sheets to the office as soon as the
correct measurements and data input have been done.
Such procedure will be followed from now on until further notice. We are also introducing this new OTF sheet, which is more
detailed with the intent of raising awareness of the extreme importance of this procedure. You all have to understand that
the OTF is one the most important steps in your jobs, regardless whether you are a Directional Driller or a MWD Operator.
On the bottom of the sheet is stated in big letters that the responsibility of the correct OTF measurement and input in the
computer is actually a shared responsibility between the MWD Operators and the Directional Drillers. We need to make it
very clear for all of you: when the OTF is calculated wrong or entered wrong in the computer, it’s affecting the whole
Company, not just one department. The Directional Drillers have to ensure that not only the measurement is done correctly,
but part of their responsibility is to check that the correct numbers are entered in the computer. If the MWD On-line
computer has to be changed for any reason during the job, please ensure that the same numbers are entered in the
appropriate place in the new computer.
In light of the recent incidents, it is clear that we need some accountability from all the Field Supervisors.
Effective immediately, any OTF measurement error resulting in lost rig time will result in loss of bonus and/or termination of
employment.
There is no excuse for OTF errors. All field supervisors have the knowledge and skills to complete this task properly. By
adhering to the set procedures we will avoid these preventable incidents and eliminate the liability associated with them.

actual survey station (row).
The current version of wells does not distinguish interpolated survey stations with actual
survey stations. To indicate that a survey station is an interpolation, insert a text line at the
same interpolated depth following the steps outlined in Section 5. The text line should clearly
state that the survey station is an interpolation. Ex. “INTERPOLATION”.
