Description of SSU Bulan Campus Proposed SDP

Campus Access
The planned site development design for the SSU Bulan Campus made use of the campus's
existing entrances. Separate access for dormitory and staff housing users, as well as a
separate access for the I.C.T Zone Area located at the back of the campus, are suggested in
the small road leading to Bulan National High School.

Existing campus roads will be enlarged from 4 meters to 6 meters, and proposed new roads
will be erected at the same width. Extra roads are proposed to connect current roads to the
proposed additional entrances/exits, as well as offer access to the proposed new
developments.

Existing campus sidewalks will be widened to 4.2 meters, with a 1.2 meter wide bike lane
(field area)/1.3 meter wide bike lane, a 2 meter wide planting strip, and a 1.2 meter wide
sidewalk. The proposed planting strip will also function as a campus stormwater drainage
system.
Campus Entrance

As part of the campus gate renovations, the present main entrance and guard house will be
destroyed. The proposed campus entrances/exits are large enough to accommodate an
RFID entrance. As part of the preventive measures and hygienic awareness, a sanitation
sink is also created at the entrance/exit of the campus gates, in keeping with the current viral
condition. The campus entry also includes disinfecting foot baths/mats. It will be in the first
few meters of the pedestrian and bicycle entrance. This will assist to reduce the spread of
viral and bacterial infections on campus.

The proposed guard house design will incorporate the existing transformer pad next to the
guard house.
Campus Drop-off/ Public Transportation Area

A planned drop-off/Jeepney terminal is proposed to be built into the border wall in front of the
Administration Building, in addition to the current waiting shed near the campus main
entrance gate. This facility will have waiting rooms and may be able to accommodate three
jeepneys at once. This place can also be used as a drop-off point for private vehicles.
Campus Facilities
Existing buildings will be required to modify as campus access roads are proposed to be
extended, resulting in the proposed removal of these structures. The administration building,
and I.T. building will be kept. These structures will not be removed; instead, they will be
refurbished and integrated into the college's projected site development plan for a more
unified campus design. The present sports field will be enlarged to accommodate the
standard size of a track and field. The existing grandstand in the field will be relocated within
the field’s opposite sides. The ground floor of the grandstand (Bldg. 18.1) will function as a
community engagement area or for commercial usage. A shower area is also located on
ground floor of the other grandstand (Bldg. 18.2).

Proposed Facilities
Updated Field Area

GRANDSTAND AREA
The structural members of the current BTTE building will be reused and reinforced for the
proposed 2-story with roof deck Integrated Academic Building 2 that will be built in its place.

Proposed Facilities
The Faculty Room, bleachers, SS/SSG Office, School Clinic, and Alumni Center will be
combined with the Business Management Building to form a single facility for the projected
Integrated Academic Building 3. After that, the faculty room will be distributed around the
academic buildings. The projected Student Services Building will house the SS/SSG office.
The projected Emergency Response facility will house the school clinic.

Proposed Facilities
In the vicinity of the current Science Laboratory Building and Parents Faculty Association
Facility, the proposed Emergency Response Building, covered court, and Student Services
Building will be constructed. Aside from the school clinic, the Emergency Response Building
will house the campus's security/cctv room as well as the campus's FMO office. Depending
on the demands and requirements of the school, the covered court placed between the two
facilities could be used as a badminton court, gathering area, event space, or even a future
expansion for the two facilities.

Proposed Facilities
To make room for the campus road widening, the existing ICT – Education Building will be
destroyed. The intended Integrated Academic Building 1 will be built in its stead.

Proposed Facilities
The existing Student Service Building will be harmed by the proposed extra campus roads,
so it will be removed and replaced by the proposed Library Building instead. Because the
proposed Student Services Building may not have enough capacity to handle organization
events and other student/org needs, the proposed Library building will also house a portion
of the Student Services Area. It may also hold the parents-faculty association and alumni
center. A proposed additional road will also be placed in front of the proposed Library
building for access.

Proposed Facilities
The proposed student dormitory and staff housing will be located behind the proposed
Emergency Response Building/ covered court/ Student Services Building and Administration
Building. As per the existing site development plan, there is no development in the area yet.
One of the proposed additional entrances/ exits will be located near the residences area
which will give the users convenience and accessibility when campus gates are closed.
Ample setbacks are also considered in case the campus decides to enclose the residences
area for separation. An edible garden and composting area are located in between the staff
housing and student dormitory to act as a division between the two facilities. Off-street
parking is also available in front of the residence area.

Proposed Facilities
The existing Social Hall Building will be demolished in favor of a larger proposed Library
Building and the proposed Multi-Purpose Hall of the campus which will be built in the area of
the existing volleyball court/ open space. The Multi-Purpose Hall will be a multi-use space for
the campus in which events may be held. It would mainly hold different sports spaces for the
campus and will be easily converted for various campus events. The area of the existing
Social Hall Building will then be the proposed green lane/ open space of the campus. The
existing minor road in front of the Social Hall Building will be converted to permeable pavers
and surface instead. Beside the proposed Multi-Purpose Hall, and along the proposed
additional road of the Library Building, a wet garden may also be found. The pond in this
area may be converted to agricultural fish pond depending on the campus requirements.

Proposed Facilities
The existing basketball court area will be replaced by the proposed filter ponds of the
campus. The filter ponds will be integrated into the proposed site development plan as
landscape/ waterscape features that may help the campus water recycling system and
drainage system. As users get to interact with the systems by integrating them into the
landscape/ waterscape of the campus, it may also help spread awareness on how greywater
is being recycled within the campus.

Proposed Facilities
The existing dorm and canteen building will be demolished as it will be affected by the
proposed additional roads for the I.C.T Zone Area. As there will be separate structures for
the proposed dorm, the proposed canteen will then be relocated in front of the library
building and front / beside the residences area.

Proposed Facilities

A proposed open grounds and wet garden located behind the canteen and adjacent to the
proposed Multi-Purpose Hall will serve as an event space or community space of the
campus. This may also serve as a
future building expansion when
necessary. This area is the lowest area
of the campus, thus instead of building
structures, the placement of permeable open space, cisterns, and wet gardens will help
alleviate the flooding within the campus.

Proposed Facilities
The existing Library Building will be demolished as it will also be affected by the proposed
road for the I.C.T. Zone Area. The Accountancy Building will also be demolished in favor of
the proposed ICT Education Building and Laboratory Building which will be built in its place.
Off-street parking is also placed beside the ICT Education Building for the use of staff or
campus visitors.

Proposed Facilities
Future Expansion Area

The existing future expansion area will be the location of the I.C.T Zone Area of the
proposed site development plan of the campus. I.C.T. Zone Area’s roads will have a
separate entrance/exit gate provided. A connecting road is also proposed to connect the
existing campus development to the expansion development. These connecting roads may
also serve as the control points between the expansion area and the campus development.
The I.C.T. Zone Area will have 3 buildings, 2 of which are for academics, and the other will
serve as a car park building. Wet park development is integrated with the center and along
the boundary of the I.C.T. Zone Area and existing campus development. Ponds located
within the wet parks may be used as agricultural fishponds depending on the campus’s
requirements and preference. Bioswales are also integrated with its outer borders. These
landscapes/ waterscapes will help mitigate flooding in the area and will be a part of the
overall campus flood mitigation strategy. A proposed internet tower and a separate
composting area are also located in the zone.
Proposed Facilities

Other Campus Facilities

The existing elevated water tank will also be retained. Additional elevated water tanks may
be designed beside the IT Building and boundary of the ICT Zone Area for additional water
storage.
In place of the existing materials recovery building, a proposed materials recovery facility will
be built and integrated into the campus road system for easy access. The existing hostel will
also be demolished and be replaced by the proposed additional materials recovery facility.
This additional facility may be used partially as a motor pool area for the campus.
The proposed garden and forest nursery, as well as a composting area, will be located
behind the existing BTTE Building. This area will help nurture greeneries and maybe a future

income-generating project for the campus and its community.

Campus Bike Parking
Campus bike parking is also proposed to be integrated into the campus development. The
bike parking will be a free-standing covered parking structure that may be found in the
different areas of the campus. This will help in promoting to use of a greener option when
traveling to and from the campus.
