We group 5 are here to present you our analysis on one of the most
demanded industries of all times, FOOD INDUSTRY. Well before starting our presentation, we
would like you to think about, how many restaurants, cafes, eateries are there near your place? Which
one is your favorite? Where to go for dessert and ice cream after dinner? Well I know the answer to all
these questions is not limited to 1. Because when we think of restaurants, cafes, ice-cream parlors There
are soo many options available these days ….As we see, some or the other new restaurant or café is
opening up nearby every now and then..

Well let me tell you, Food business is a highly competitive industry where 60% of restaurants
close their operations in the first year and 80% closes in the first five years. This is the main
reason why we chose this industry. We have analysed the data of Mumbai restaurants from
different areas to find which could be the best place to open a new restaurant business.

To gain high profit margins, along with top quality food and cuisines, restaurants need to
carefully gauge their target audience, the place where they are going to set up. They must take
into account the operational hours, hospitality, preferred cuisines, midnight service, the best
pricing, the ideal time to serve the meal, and, most crucially, competition in the same region with
overlapping products.

Since Restaurants are failing at a very nascent stage as a result of a lack of proper data about what
the industry entails. The essential area to concentrate on in this circumstance is information and
data analysis..

So, Talking about How is this going to help the society & the stakeholder.

This shows how important analytics play a role in this industry.

Talking through the lens of the investor, this will give them better judgement of financial

planning allocation of resources. This helps to identify current trends, food preference and

many more. Through analytics the owner would be aware if the restaurant will be in profits or

loss.

So we have applied descriptive analysis to address the problem statement. While conducting the

study, we have done sentiment analysis using textblob library in python, which helped us gauge
the customer performance once the restaurant is opened. We have used tableau as the platform

for the analysis.
