Talking about the Healthcare and Sanitation

The health programmes by Reliance have reached out to 25 lakh people.

5 programs Reliance invested its healthcare budget are IN -

1.Core programs in health and sanitation


The Reliance Foundation Hospital Health Outreach program has facilitated five Mobile
Medical Units (MMUs) and three Static Medical Units (SMUs), which reach out to 11 wards
and 74 marginalized urban slum locations in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. They provided
27,000 consultations to the needy with specialist doctors.

2.Reliance CSR Non-Communicable Disease


Control and Prevention Program
CSR activities of Reliance screened close to 15,000 individuals for oral, breast, and cervical
cancers under the cancer prevention and control program.

3.Alliance For Saving Mothers And Newborns


(ASMAN)
In the last decade, India has made great improvements in ensuring maternal health. The
maternal mortality ratio (MMR) has been reduced to 130 per 100,000 live births in 2014-16,
which has reduced further to 122 per 100,000 live births. The global SDGs is an ambitious
target of reducing this to 70 by 2030, which is where Project ASMAN comes into the picture.

Project ASMAN is a partnership between Reliance Foundation, Tata Trusts, MSD for
Mothers, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and United States Agency for International
Development. It is focused on strengthening the healthcare system for mothers and
newborns by enhancing the quality of public health services. Project ASMAN has touched at
least 0.5 million mothers and newborn infants during the project cycle to date.
4.RF Drishti
18500+ cornea transplant conducted successfully.

5. Care and Support for HIV and Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis kills an average of 1200 people per day in India alone. Reliance has set up
hospitals at Lodhivali (Maharashtra), Jamnagar, and Hazira (Gujarat), which provide free
and subsidized healthcare services to underprivileged and marginalized segments. So far,
over 0.33 million specialized health consultations and counselling were provided to
PLHIV( People Living with HIV/AIDS).

Fighting COVID – Corona Haarega India Jeetega

1. To help strengthen the efforts to tackle the pandemic and its aftermath, Reliance donated ` 500
crore to PM-CARES Fund. Additionally, ` 56 crore were donated to various other relief funds
2. Mission Anna Seva reached the last mile by identifying communities and families that need help
and by stepping out amongst them, even in these uncertain times, to provide help to vulnerable
communities.
3. Reliance with the help of Reliance Life Sciences provided test kits and consumables for effective
testing to enhance India’s testing capacity. To combat the rising demand and global shortages,
Reliance Industries produced 1,00,000 PPE and face masks per day for India’s healthcare and
frontline workers. A PPE suit consists of coveralls, gloves, shoe covers, threeply or N95 face
masks, head gear and face shield.
4. As of 10 June 2020, Reliance had provided over 5.5 lakh litres of free fuel, supporting over
14,000 ambulances across 249 districts in 18 states
5. Reliance Foundation Supported Woman Leader Helping Others during COVID-19 as well - After
learning about the shortage of masks for frontline workers in the initial days of lockdown,
Krishna Kumari and her husband decided to use her skills and stitch face masks to supply it to
them. The couple has prepared nearly 800 reusable cloth masks and supplied them free of cost
to help frontline workers. Despite struggling through this tough times themselves, they are
helping their community in their own way
